I have over the last couple of years audtioned over six different companies single ended digital cables. The best I heard under $500.00 was the Acoustic Zen MC=Zen. To better it in my system I went to a Artistic Audio Vacuum reference that retails for $1600.00. So based both on cost and performance the Acoustic Zen cable is a real gem. One can be gotten used for around $200.00 to $250.00 here on the Gon.
VH Audio cables are an excellent value. Many options are available so you can tailor to your budget.
Second the Stereovox HDVX. Won a Blue Moon award from 6moons.com. Has been working very well in my system. Cost me $100 - going for about $70 used on A'gon, I believe.
I can recommend Transparent Digital Reference 75 omhn, my
digital front end Krell reference64 Dac and DT-10 Transport limited edition.
I can also highly recommend the Apogee Wideeye. For 'bout double the price of 1 meter Apogee check out the Stereovox HDVX, it's excellent in my HT system.
My three recommendations are from listening experience and represent superior value in their respective price classes... in my very humble opinion.

Level 1--Apogee Wyde Eye
Level 2--Zu Cable Ash
Level 3--Wireworld Gold Starlight
If you really want a price-wise *cheap* cable then it would be Apogee Wyde-Eye ($50 for 1m RCA type cable. Price seems to have gone up ~$10).
Others that I understand are very good are:
Silver Audio Silver Stream
Kimber D-75
Kimber D-60 (this is the much more expensive version that was bought from Illuminati)
DH Labs D-75

The list is rather large so it really depends on your budget, what you are looking for sonically & what type of equipment you have.
FWIW.YMMV.
audioquest vsd 1 is very good and wont make you poor, also look at some lesser known generic brands as depending on what level of equipment your using the difference between digital cables can be very small ,the audioquest is what i use. happy listning.
