Chord Qutest

Help;

I just bought a Chord Qutest and have been playing for 2 days.

I’m finding it is very hard and sibilant
I have it on the orange/red filter that helps
I’m using the supplied cabling

Are the Chords sensitive to cabling or can this this be a break-in thing?

I’ve compared it to my Meridian Explorer2 & Playback Designs Merlot “ loaner” and it IS very hard sounding

Oh yeah, cables are very important. My Dac and PS Audio transport do well with Audience PC's; low noise floor, wide and deep soundstage. I have a small Audience power conditioner for digital and a Blue Circle for analogue. Currently using a Cerious Technologies SPDIF coax.

Very good move getting the Hot Box.

Filters are SOFTWARE logic code in the FPGA, why/how on earth do they require break-in?
Hi guys i have chord qutest ,i want an advice i can afford chord dave but donno what better upgrade? chord dave or qutest with m scaler
my dealer told me he will take back the qutest to an make me buying the dave so what is ur opinion guys?!?
Blackbierd,
Can your dealer give you a demonstration comparing the Qutest/M Scaler to the Chord Dave DAC , or at least his opinion?

The M Scaler will make a big difference with any of the Chord DACs. If you go with the Dave , you could always get the M Scaler later on.
