CD player

I have an opportunity to pick up a Musicial fidelity X Ray V8 CD player for $400.00 shipped. Wondering how good is this player and if there are other players out there that are as good or better than this one For $400.00. I do have the X Ray V3 DAC, PSU, and V3 Tube buffer for my wadia ipod doc/ Theata universal 3 transport running to a Musical Fidelity A3CR preamp which does sound good. I'm not a fan of having to unplug the digital cable out of the DAC to go back and forth from the Theata transport to the Wadia. Wondering would the X Ray V8 player sound as good as the Theata/V3 Dac set up?

I believe Stereophile reviewed the X Ray many years ago. I would look back over the review. Personally, I wouldn't buy a cd player/transport that is that old as eventually it will stop functioning and there probably won't be any parts available to fix it.

I think the X ray was around 800.00 to 1000.00. 400.00 seems a bit high to me.
