cable separation

Any ideas for keeping powercords and interconnects apart? Something like we use to keep sparkplug wires apart. What have you tried?

I found that 1" foam pipe insulation found at Home Depot, for example, at about $1.25 for a 6' length is ideal - separates cables from one another, separates cables from adjacent racks to insulate from vibration, is inexpensive, and is easily cut to any length with a pocket knife.
