best sound for a classical and jazz cd

as a reviewer i am always looking for excellent sounding cds--classical or jazz.

i realize perception of sound is subjective, but i would appreciate some ideas.

Check out some of the XRCD issues - excellent sound quality. I have a copy of Bill Evans Sunday at the Village Vanguard on an XRCD and it is superb.
