@hgeifman @parkergetdean @devinplombier I’ll email Tammy, but that they have done little to nothing in a month after promising to fix it in a few days tells me they either can’t or won’t bother to do anything. I’m using an iPad with one of the latest iOS updates, and Brave was working fine until last week when it all came crashing down, literally. I find it more than strange that Audiogon is the only site that this happens with Brave, and it’s not only unresponsive it literally crashes the site causing it to shut down and sometimes freezes my iPad completely requiring a restart. Thinking this may be on Brave’s end but they make it hard to even figure out how to report an issue on their site. Argh! I HATE!!! this tech crap and pity anyone who does it as a job every day — I’d rather collect garbage.
Audiogon has gone too far, too fast with the ads!!!
I enjoy this site and completely understand and support their monetizing it more with ads, but it’s gone too far, too fast IMHO. First it ran far too slowly, which they thankfully have improved, but we’re still left with ads popping up all over the place to the point of being overly intrusive, distracting, and annoying at least in my experience. Past that, and even worse, if I try to post a response longer than a few sentences the site often refreshes and I lose what I’ve written, and that’s even with me proactively saving it as I’m typing (it happened twice while I typed this!!!) — this rarely happened before the advertising deluge. I just wish they’d back it off a bit at least until they can work out whatever limitations are causing these frequent and very frustrating issues. Or maybe it’s just me?

I am with you @soix. All I can say is: probably not a priority for them. Knowing how ads work to some extent, the money it generates must be miniscule. I am getting car and apartment ads most of the time, none of which I have search for in years nor would I click on. |
@SOIX, I can certainly understand your frustration. Unfortunately, I cannot solve your issue and we need Audiogon to provide solution. Please ask Audiogon Support what additional information they need to solve this issue and also tell them you are ’super frustrated’ and need their help. Some BRAVE BROWSER users have experienced crashes following recent app updates, such as version 1.80, which may have introduced bugs or data corruption issues. The common suggested solutions include uninstalling and reinstalling the app, which has been reported to fix crashes caused by corrupted data or glitches after updates. Based on the this info, I suggest you delete the BRAVE Browser and install it fresh. Please also use SAFARI and see if that helps. LMK |
Trying to enter text is like a ticking time bomb with no way to predict when the page will reset losing the text. Reset twice yesterday losing text, sigh. Very strange that the Admin hasn’t addressed this issue. Very frustrating poor implementation that other forums don’t suffer. It should be fixable or reimplement a better solution vs trying to patch a poor system. |
Addressing intermittent issues that are likely confined to certain specific browser / OS / settings combinations is tough. I’m sure they’re trying. It looks like experiences vary. In my case, on my Pixel with Brave, everything is 100% clean - no ads, no problems. On my Windows laptop, it’s all 100% clean with Brave. With Firefox I do see a ton of ads. They’re totally irritating and they jump around in an obtrusive way that suggests haphazard / unstable implementation. But, I never experience any random page resets. What does happen - regardless of browser / OS - is me being signed out randomly while I’m in the middle of editing a post. I know when I’ve been signed out, because the page freezes when I touch Post. If that happens don’t refresh! Just do Ctrl+A followed by Ctrl+C to save your post to the clipboard. Then refresh the page; it’ll ask you to sign in, and you can Ctrl-V to paste your saved post in the text box.
