Apple Music Dolby Atmos with 3 Channel setup
Just wanted to write here to share some findings. While I didn’t care for Dolby Atmos audio from Apple Music on my JH Audio IEMs I did really enjoy it on my Apple TV playing into my 3.1 setup (Left, right, center, sub). The left and right channels are powered the same as when I do 2 channel using Home Theater Bypass on my STR and it hands DAC responsibility to my NAD T777. To my ears it basically widens the sound stage which I find quite pleasant and letting the center channel pickup some of the vocal load gives better bass response on my Focal’s. Likely not for everyone, but if you think the bigger the soundstage the better give it a go!
