The way posts are disappearing I guess the thread is next.
Anyone considering not buying Chinese products anymore?
I’ve been giving this some thought lately due to the current situation. I’m not real knowledgable about this sort of thing but I feel like we, along with other countries, have helped make China very powerful with regards to their economy and military, which is a scary situation. I’m starting to think it would be wise of us to not to support China, simply for our own well being. This would mean not buying any audio products made in China. Im not even sure its possible to completely quit buying products made in China because so much of what we use is made there but is it smart to cut back where we can and start supporting small business’ in America? There’s plenty of excellent equipment made here...

Isolationist cry havoc about "China" and " foreign " products and complain when the price goes up. Get all worked up over those damn illegal immigrants and want a new roof installed for cost and lawns cut for pennies. Lettuce, cabbages and tomatoes magically appear at the store but whine over the high price of food. If you want all made here, grown here, constructed here by Americans then get ready to pay for it. |
In colonial America trade was restricted to England. Look up the Navigation Acts and Staples Act. In early US history like most things the view on trade depended on if you were an industrial Northern State who wanted high tariffs or a slave Southern State who wanted free trade. The virus is called SARS-CoV2 the disease Covid-19. |

While you're wondering if you'll ever be able to buy those 100% nothing from China items mull over this exciting news. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/may/22/why-we-might-not-get-a-coronavirus-vaccine |
The 25,000 to 69,000 numbers that Trump cited do not represent counted flu deaths per year; they are estimates that the CDC produces by multiplying the number of flu death counts reported by various coefficients produced through complicated algorithms. These coefficients are based on assumptions of how many cases, hospitalizations, and deaths they believe went unreported. In the last six flu seasons, the CDC’s reported number of actual confirmed flu deaths—that is, counting flu deaths the way we are currently counting deaths from the coronavirus—has ranged from 3,448 to 15,620, which far lower than the numbers commonly repeated by public officials and even public health |
My stereo components aren't made in China but I know they have made in China parts in them. If your purpose for a Chinese boycott is to punish China you're not operating in reality if it's to try and get more things made in America your focus is misplaced, try focusing on American companies who not only use slave labor in China but anywhere they can find it. |
Countries that are doing better have a coordinated national response and plan, we're winging it as we go. I got my rights to go infect as many as I want you freaking snowflakes. On the news the other night watched an interview with a lady talking about some of the responses she was getting asking people to wear a mask in the store. One guy she told the mask was to protect others health, like herself for instance. He said, lady I don't give a damn about your health. |
The only news I’ve seen from Wuhan was a scientist who has been working with bats and coronavirus for a number of years said we’ve only reached the tip of the iceberg. I know these conspiracy theory lunatics walk among us but it's still a very sad thing to witness. Psychiatrists can explain them perhaps even treat them. I don't know if the internet has increased these crazy ideas or just given an outlet to the afflicted that have always suffered from delusional thoughts. |
https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/fortune-cookie-fortune/ Proof right there. Fortune cookies given out in Chinese restaurants, they keep crickets in little boxes who obviously communicate the numbers to their one insect order slaves they have brainwashed. |
