Amp for driving revel salon 2

The best amp for Salon 2 (or any other Revel speaker for that matter) would be a Mark Levinson amp. You can get an ML334 for fairly reasonable money

Has anyone tried the Salon 2 with the Parasound JC-1? I would appreciate your comments

The Salon2 is very neutral and sensitive to the amps being used. It sounds as good as the amps. The key is to experiment different amps to suit your taste. Bryston 7B SST2 should be fine. Tube amps could be a real challenge. Keep in mind that the Salon2 is a very capable speaker system. You would appreciate it more with more capable amps.

The Parasound JC-1 monoblocks could be a good candidate for experiment.

I'm the same boat with the expensive JBLs mated with the midline Bryston.

Since I had to spend a ton of dough on the revel Salon 2's had to settle for a NAD M2. Sound is OK but an upgrade will help in the future. PCM via coaxial sounds pretty good but not a lot of bottom end. I am sure BAT Krell combination does wonders!

My system that drives my Revel Salon 2 speakers is this:
Krell 402e
BAT REx Preamp
Esoteric K-01 CD/SACD one box unit
Stealth IC cables
Siltech LS100 speaker cables

the sound is wonderful. I think the Krell works extremely well with
the BAT/Rex tube preamp.
My impression is that the speakers require a high powered amp to give the control you want in the bass as well as the dynamic responsiveness.

I do have to say that I am extremely happy with what I have now - and feel very lucky that I got there quickly and can mostly stay off the merry-go-round for a while.

I personally would likely find Bryston to be a bit lean and dry with Salon 2s.
