How much faster of a sub is the REL T5X vs SVS SB12-NSD
I've owned one (and then two) SVS SB12+ which were a step up in quality from the NSD. They were nice subs but I ultimately required more headroom when I was building a system in my main system (large, open floor plan with no way to pressurize the ...
Anybody watch Steve Huff audio on the Tube?
Yes, it's indicative of the industry and influencing others to chase the next best  thing. At least Steve is not...air quotes "manufacturing" a re-badged Doge Integrated and selling it like it's something new to the world while still maintaining ...
Domain Trades for High end Audio Gear
Seeing as domains are relatively cheap to obtain, and high end audio is not, it seems like you're investing in a strange area. I'd guess that Snell XA references would still cost $12-15,000 on the used market, that's 240 -300 domains at a generou...
Fyne Audio - New Speakers Displayed in Munich
Sued on what grounds? Dual concentric drivers or walnut veneers?
Concerning high end audio names in new cars
High end home audio is a niche market. Cars are not. Any audio company looking for additional and compatible revenue streams can create brand awareness and potential future customers by inserting a speaker set or head unit into a luxury or halo ca...
Amp Recommendations for Marantz 7c
I own a restored 7T in my home office system, and have paired it with both a lightly restored Dynaco st-70, and a Bob Latino ST-70. I prefer the latter as it is not as tubby sounding as the original. The VTA amps are a great value.
Acoustic Zen - blown tweeter - out of business? replacement?
If you get desperate, you could try tracking down this unit. This site looks kinda sketchy, so I'm not sure I would purchase from them, but the product name leads me to believe this could be the same unit with a different mounting plate ( square v...
SVS sub owners, Past and Present
I owned a pair of their SB12+ that didn't have enough output for our open floor plan home, and needed to move up to a pair of sealed 15s. That's about the only issue i had, and it was more poor application than anything.
From Jeff Rowland to Primaluna. Yes or No?
I went from a Jeff Rowland Model 2, to a Pass Labs XA30.5, to a Primaluna Evo 300 Power amp, currently driving a pair of Tannoy Legacy Ardens (93db sensitivity vs the SF's 91db). I could happily live with any of these amps in my system. I don't t...
Getting lossless Apple Music to my dac
According to the 5200's DAC1 specs, the USB input handles PCM-based digital music files up to 32-bit/384kHz and DSD files up to 11.2 MHz. What are the details on your lossless files, and what about your laptop's capabilities lead you to believe i...
Balanced tube amp for $200
You might try searching over on headfi.org where there is a greater focus on headphones and associated gear like headphone amps.
New and improved Diamond Back Oil!!!
Regardless of male/female ends, I'd still like see directional arrows at that price.
The magic of outdoor listening
Seems like a good way to enjoy music if you have the luxury of acreage to avoid being a nuisance to neighbors. Unfortunately, I live in city adjacent suburbia and am subjected to noise pollution on a daily basis. Mostly barking dogs and leaf blowe...
Upgrade from KEF 107.2 > Sophia or Andra
I once owned the KEF reference 107. It may be difficult to find a modern speaker that can match the effortless bass weight and integration as well as that dual 10"  design. If you want to avoid subs, the Andra is probably a better choice, or poss...
Prima Luna have released the Kracken (striketrough) I mean DAC
Apologies to rixthetrick for the thread derail. I originally jumped in here as I was considering the Primaluna DAC at one time. @erictal4075 , I own the L2 May DAC, and despite the original buyers guilt of dropping $5k on a dac, I don't regret it...
