And Clapton Didn't Even Know
Clapton was very confused about what he wanted musically prior to getting off drugs and alcohol. He has sometimes been reluctant to really play his guitar much on his recordings. Other times he has been quoted, in his autobiography, that he liked ...
Beatles "Abbey Road"
Have patience. As with the mono box of cd's, the Beatles will eventually release a new analog vinyl version of Abbey Road and Let it Be.
Db Power Amp - is there a better ripper out there?
Not to say anyone else is wrong, but I've never had a problem using WMP ripping WAV and it sounds great.
Is it really useless Upscaling 16/44.1 music to 24
My experience is limited, but I recently purchased a Meridian Explorer USB dac, cheap and it upsamples. Coming between my computer on WMP and my main rig it sounds fantastic. By comparison I think it's better than my Marantz SA 8004 sacd player.
Infinity Primus P363 TAS review
My reading of the review makes me think that REG does think the Infinities compete with mega bucks speakers. That's why I was amazed by the review.
Infinity Primus P363 TAS review
Interesting comments. i look forward to the next issue of YAS as i would think readers would have comments on a review of a speaker that for less than $400 is comparable to the state of the art according to REG. I haven't heard the speaker but am ...
Frustrated with Bonamassa Live CDs
The point is a good recording is so much better than one that is not. I just listened to vinyl of SRV today and it was just outstanding. Yeah, good music is still good if the recording isn't good. But, if the recording is great also then WOW. We s...
Infinity Primus P363 TAS review
I posted because TAS is allegedly a serious high end mag. As I said, the review didn't refer to the speakers being good for the price but being contenders for being good regardless of price.
Buying new vinyl?
I think many cd's have been poorly recorded and or compressed to drain all dynamics out of them. Well recorded cd's uncompressed, sound quite good though. LP's in the past weren't compressed to the point the dynamics were lost. Some of the older c...
Mythologies on MoFi - Something wrong? ?
I can't speak on the Mythologies album but there seems to be some confusion here. If a recording is not as loud as some others (a lot of modern, or modern rock recordings for example) that does not mean it's compressed. Compression is actually whe...
Rega owners
Thanks KIKO and to all. RP3 sounds kinda good.
Rega owners
Schubert, do you think the RP1 and a Ortofon Red would be a big upgrade from the Phillips?
New Stones vinyl
Yes, but they are still digital with the inherent digital bad things aren't they? It's like pretending you are listening to vinyl IMO. A suckers buy since most new vinyl is digital sourced. But to each their own.
Rega owners
Thanks. Right now I'm just trying to upgrade from a 1960's / 70's era Phillips that I got for $50 bucks. It actually doesn't sound too bad. The main reason for my question is whether A Rega 1 or 3 would be a substantial step up from where I am now...
