Review: Plinius SA-102 power amp
Hello -I came across your nice thread on Audiogon from 2002 regarding the SA-102 amp. Just wondering if you can still recommend the SA-102 in this price range.I presently have the SA-100 Mk3 amp and am thinking about upgrading to a SA-102. However...
Cary Rocket 88 & n.e.w. P-3: Best tube combo?
Do you recall if your NEW P3 tube preamp was phase inverting?
Best pre-owned 2-channel amp for under $2000??
There are lots of good amps out there to consider at this price range. If you can find a used Krell KSA-200S amp for just under $2000 (and you can if you're patient), that would be my recommendation.
Conditioner for Cary MB500 Monoblocks
I've tried both the Hydra and the PS Audio conditioners. The best I've tried so far is the Running Springs Audio (RSA) conditioner. No current limiting at all and more natural sounding than any of the other conditioners. They're a bit pricey, but ...

Maggie1.6 bi-wire or single?
I've tried bi-wired MIT Terminator 2's and Silver Sonic T-14's, but got better sound with a single run of XLO Reference Type 5 speaker cables. This combination is the best so far in my system.
vibrapods or cones?
I use both vibrapods and cones (tiptoes) in my system. Pods appear to work best under non-mechanical components (preamps, DAC's). Cones seem to work best on components with moving parts (speakers, turntables, CD transports). With power amps, I've ...
cj pv10 vs pv12
Hello -I've owned both preamps and used the line stage only, not the phono stage. Anyway, the PV-10 is more traditional CJ tube sound - warm, dimensional, sweet, and musical. The PV-12 is probably more neutral, more extended highs, and tighter bot...
Bryston 3B ST or McCormack DNA 1
I've heard the 3B-ST many times in a friend's system and owned a DNA-1 before. The 3B-ST's midrange and highs will sound a bit more open, bass will be tighter and well-defined. DNA-1 will have the smoother highs and more liquid, dimensional midran...
