The Truth About Power Cords and there "Real" Price to Performance
"I discovered that each power cord sounded very different going into the Ayre L-5xe but totally the same going into the LTA. So I reached out to Mark Schneider at LTA to report what I found. He told me that David Berning, who designs the LTA gear,...
The Truth About Power Cords and there "Real" Price to Performance
"I have investigated cables for many years and power cable improvement seems differ with the component to which they are attached.- components with "less-capable" power supplies tend to exhibit more of an improvement- compared to the same cable w...
... WHAT POWER CORD(S) ARE PLAYING IN YOU SYSTEM TODAY?
boxer12,I've tried Audioquest and Pangea of various flavors and my Bryston B60R Integrated Amp doesn't seem to care what I use to feed it. The power supplies in Bryston amps are quite robust, which may be an important factor.
... WHAT POWER CORD(S) ARE PLAYING IN YOU SYSTEM TODAY?
Always replace OEM 18AWG power cables with Tripp-Lite 14AWG of minimum length possible. Have always found significant differences in interconnects and speaker cables, but imperceptible change in sound quality when it comes to power cords.
Mogami 2534 "Upgrade"
yyzsb,The RCA interconnects are the only TFA cables that I've used, but wouldn't hesitate to buy others (power cords, etc.) if I needed them.
Mogami 2534 "Upgrade"
t_ramey,The 2534 cables were made for me by Take Five Audio. Good luck with your project.
Power amps into surge protector/Conditioner or DIRECT to wall? Final verdict?
I recently had an Integrated Amp fail and it occurred to me that it was the only component in my 2.1 audio system that didn’t have any surge suppression. I've always kept it plugged directly into the wall outlet since I experienced slight sound d...
Interconnects and Speaker Cable, What in your history hit your pleasure button?
The ones I keep coming back to are StraightWire Maestro interconnects and Kimber 8TC speaker cable.
Very small room systems and synergy
reven6e,Glad that the TuneTots are working out for you. Your use of stands is surprising since Wilson discourages the use of them. The speaker is a "near-boundary" design and intended for placement on cabinets. However, if it works for you that's ...
Very small room systems and synergy
Reven6e,Any comment on the Wilson TuneTot review by HiFNews? https://www.hifinews.com/content/wilson-audio-tunetot-loudspeaker ....In reflex mode, bass extension is limited to 73Hz (–6dB re. 200Hz) and follows a whopping peak at 113Hz (+8dB re. 30...
Very small room systems and synergy
I also have a small (11' x 12') listening room with LS50s driven by a Bryston B60R Integrated.  I was drawn to the LS50s because of the coincident/coaxial driver design which works well in nearfield listening situations. I did find that speaker pl...
Any Love For Bryston Here?
Discovered Bryston gear 19 years ago and my never-ending search was over.

Kimber 4TC vs 8TC
In two different systems, 8TC sounded better than 4TC.  Music had more flesh on the bone, bass in particular.  FWIW, 8TC has approx. half the resistance and inductance for a given length.  Definitely worth the price difference.
