Straight wire and gain linestage?
Endler Audio has a generous return policy, although he seems to be set on a single resistor value which can't be right for all systems, but he's the engineer and I am not. Certainly worth a try; the price is quite reasonable and he has some cool o...
Accidental improvement in performance...cheap
I non-accidentally added some blow-up devices with unique dimples and some uh, inverse accouterments. They all sound great [no whining to turn it down] and always someone to 'listen' with. The blonde is better on the floor. YMMV.
Radiohead's new business model:
NPR did a story on the band yesterday. Since most money goes to the record company, they will actually get to keep the product of their making. As '61 notes, most revenue comes from sources apart from record sales. Still, gotta hand it to them for...

A "house sound" among turntable manufacturers ?
Opus, "...light enlightenment" ?! Too funny. I do hope your ? gets answered, though this may may the proverbial cat and his tail, a circle going round and round. Kind of like a...TT! Cheers.
EVS vs Endler attenuators
Try phoning him, if he can't pick up, he says he'll call you back. He was very nice if a bit verbose on the one occasion we spoke a few years ago.
EVS vs Endler attenuators
Both have put a lot of thought into their offerings. Ric is probably the tweakier of the two. I know for sure that Scott's return policy is quite generous. You don't like, you send them back, NQA. Ric is not quite so forgiving as I recall. I would...
Preamp with lots of outputs?
Hey Dick, Those sound like sources for which one would need inputz, eh?
Bryston 3B ST + $600 = help?
Since you state you are new to this and you love the sound, maybe it is best to enjoy what you have for the moment. Acclimate yourself to the system, maybe a few tweaks, experiment with cabling [you don't mention your choice of wire] and so forth....
Silent Speaker from Direct Acoustics ???
Certainly cheap enough, and it looks like some thought and care went into the design. But zero marketing [a good thing!] leaves one wondering. I'd love to hear them myself but I know of no owners nor of anyone who has heard them, or heard of them....
B&K Preamps
I had a Pro 5 many years ago that sounded great for an entry-level piece. The jacks were tab-mounted on the rear panel, hardly secure but the rest of it was a peach. The active switch was a great feature, except with the volume full up! I believe ...
Crossover ? Passive Vs. Active
With an active xover, one can pick and choose xover points, levels, and even the Q on some models. I think the amp choice is less of an issue when you have such flexibility in the xover. Bob's comment is right on.Losing an inductor [in a conventio...
