| SCD-1 v. 777ES If your system or preamp only allows rca inputs, get the 777. Otherwise there is not much of a difference though SCD1 has a slightly bigger xformer and comes with xlr outs (that sounds analytical due to cheap opamp output stage) | |

| Balanced vs. Unbalanced Inputs Many of the so-called multi-amps with balanced inputs actually are not quite true 'balanced'. Don't waste your money, just go with rca inputs. Can't go wrong with Sherbourn, BTW. | |

| DAC or Upgraded Analogue in SACD units? I have my 777 modified by R. Kern (audiomod.com) and it cost me $480 plus shipping both ways and by far it is the best $480 audio investment I have made. Highly recommend! | |

| Ensemble power porducts: a surprise no.2 Quite a few power cords have come and gone in my gear but the Ensemble MegaFlux p/c has held its own pretty well. Why? Because nothing has yet come close to beat it. The cord is plugged into my Sony SCDP. |
