I thought about the gain knob. I’ll give it a shot.    any recommendations for the setting to get it right?
Considering adding a dedicated 2 channel preamp in setup?
jdub,I spoke to someone about the home theater bypass specifically the Parasound P6 and the JC2. My 8805 would still handle the sub woofers like they are now.  So I wouldn’t need anything additional; YAY!I also use the 8805 calibration on the main...
Considering adding a dedicated 2 channel preamp in setup?
avanti1960,yes I’m considering a preamp with home theater bypass. But I don’t want to side step as I feel the 8805 has a very very good two channel section. So I’m thinking I’d have to up it a little to gain much from the 8805.
Considering adding a dedicated 2 channel preamp in setup?
Can anyone tell me how adding a preamp like the one being discussed will affect my four subwoofers? Will my 8805 still handle the lower end like it have now? Currently for music I run the crossover for the mains at 60hz. This has got me thinking ab...
Considering adding a dedicated 2 channel preamp in setup?
jdub ,I’ve had plenty of home theater pre amps and AV receivers but this thing is dialed in for 2 channel listening and agree with you. It was one of the main reasons I purchased it. Hell, I don’t even use near;t any of the channels which I think ...

jdub I agree I’m pretty happy with the 2 channel settings the 8805 has and that’s why I’m having a hard time figuring out whether the P6 would do anything better than it. The JC2 is a lot bigger step up but even then I’d have a hard time thinking ...

I was thinking about $2k is something I’d spend and the Parasound P6 is well below that.
Is 35’ and 50’ to long for RCA sub cables?
I ordered two sub cables from Mediabridge on Amazon. One cable was 50’ and the other was 35’ and both were perfect for the length. Hooked them up loosely to see if there was any issues and nothing, worked great and sounded great. No hum!Now I have...
Is 35’ and 50’ to long for RCA sub cables?
I’ve been told to run XLR (mic) cable and then just use the two conductors instead of all three for RCA. Would that help even though my subs don’t have XLR inputs?

New/Used Amp recommendations for about $3k-$4k?
Alright people,  I ended up getting the Parasound Halo A21+ in black.
New/Used Amp recommendations for about $3k-$4k?
I don’t think the monster preamp as mention above is a bottleneck because I’ve heard these speakers on the same preamp with the XPR-1 mono blocks and they sounded so sweet and detailed. I’m looking for an amp with as much detail as the XPR-1’s but...

What I was digging about the 100f’s were the mid range/tweeter.I'm very curious about those GAN amps mentioned above.
