Where did you buy your first audio gear?
Audio Visions in Babylon, NY Really miss that store. Paradigm speakers, Rotel electronics
Favorite religious song
What about any of Don Potter’s music or his friend Leonard Jones? They did some genuinely great stuff at Morningstar together and their individual solo stuff was awesome too.
A decent integrated amp under 2K ...
They’re hard to find but the Simaudio I5 or I5.3 are spectacular integrateds. I think the reason almost none appear on the pre-owned market is that they’re so darned good. If by chance you can find one , they usually go for well under 2,000
Finally found a space for the speakers I’ve been storing... and I don’t love them any more
I’ve had the studio 100v2s for a long time probably about 19 years. I’ve also had Totem Model ones, Dunaudio 1.3, Fritz Groves, Proac Tablette 50, Paradigm Studio 40v2, Paradigm Studio 60v3 and Revel M22. Still have the 100s the M22 and the Groves...
How old are you?
I’m 65 and have been pursuing better audio gear for about 20 years.Always loved music but didn’t really know what was out there as far as gear until one day I wandered into a local hi-end audio emporium.  I’ve been hooked ever since even though I ...
Poor Fritz
Has anyone tried the Groves that he makes? Look like they spec out well , wondering how they sound
Types of speakers to create nightclub style sound?
Actually QSC makes a smaller powered speaker that would work really well and doesn’t cost too much- the CP8. I had a pair in my basement and thought they were very listenable and very very good at what they do. Very small footprint too. Pair them ...
Recommendations for high quality Streaming Audio:
I’m using the Bluesound Node 2i into a Hegel HD20 dac into a Simaudio I5 integrated feeding Paradigm 100v2’s and I am stunned by how good the sound quality is streaming Qbuzz
Question for Paradigm Studio 100 owners ...
In case anyone might still be reading this thread, I’ve had Paradigm Studio 100v2s for a long time now ( since new). I’m running them with a Simaudio I5 (70w) integrated fed with a Bluesound Node 2i into a Hegel H20 Dac streaming from Quobuzz. Sou...
DEDICATED CD PLAYER $1K AND UNDER, THOUGHTS?
I second the Rotel recommendation. They are as good as it gets for a very reasonable price. I have both and think the Rotel beats the Marantz even though it has less features
How do the Elac Uni-Fi UB5s compare to more expensive bookshelf speakers?
At or around your price you can get a previously owned pair of Revel M22's . Reference quality sound for a very affordable price.
Recommendations for used/vintage integrated for vinyl
I had the Musical Fidelity A300 at three different times in my audio journey and always liked it using my Rega Planar25 to w/ Benz silver cartridge. I think you'd have to spend a little more for one, probably in the 750-875 range if you can find o...
For all you McIntosh fans
I love my MA6500 and that's all I have to say about that!!
Why should i be a fan of Revel speakers?
I have the M22's and really like them. Upstream components really make a difference with these. I now run a McIntosh MA6500 with them that really brings out the best in them. They do like to be fed some power. I wouldn't sell them to upgrade to th...
recommendations on a good used cd player for under $750
I would be very reluctant to buy used especially when for your buget Marantz has two players that are very good the cd5005 (399) and the cd6005 (499 comes with USB input on front for your iphone). Both sound very good. I've bought some used cd pla...
