Ohm "Tall "speakers: Overall 2000 responses on a thread from 2008
Thank you to all, (especially frazeur 1 and Mmisstl) for their responses and advice. I will keep you posted. Still would like to hear the Larsen 6.2  to compare to 4.2 and possibly the Ohm MWT.  Could consider the Ohm 1000 somewhere down the line....
Ohm "Tall "speakers: Overall 2000 responses on a thread from 2008
To frazeur:  Thank you for the advice. I have been offered the same about Ohms' 120 day home trial. I  actually contacted John Strohbeen a few times, but no demo pairs of the MWT's were available..Let me clarify my position on several points.  Fir...
R.I.P: Rest In Peace Roy Johnson, Green Mountain Audio's Genius
Very sad news. Roy was a true gentleman who gave generously of his time and advice and designed and built great speakers.  I am proud to have owned the  GM "Europa" monitor that provided quality sound for many years.  He was a great and kind man w...
Larsen speakers: 4.2 or 6.2??. Has anyone heard or own them??
Special thanks to Bill and Tim for their extensive comments and advice.  I did get to hear the Larsen 4.2 today at a local dealer, and was impressed by the sound and the outstanding sound quality of the midrange and mid treble.  The top treble sou...
Larsen speakers: 4.2 or 6.2??. Has anyone heard or own them??
Thank you to gregm3 and to br3098 for their comments. To br3098. You mention that you "used to be" a Larsen dealer; If so, did you drop the line and why. My previous comment about the wide price difference between the models 4.2 and 6.2 was only to...
Wharfedale Linton Heritage 85th Anniversary
I owned a pair of Denton 80th Anniversary speakers for two years as an alternative speaker. They did sound musical and engaging I did not find the highs shrill or edgy, but I could tell they were not all there and somewhat rolled off. If what Er...

"Dazed and Confused" about upgrading current speakers
Thanks to all who have respondedTo Mr. decibel1The CJ  PV-14L SE  is a line stage.  Therefore, can you explain what a passive pre-amp brings to the table and possibly improves the sound?? (especially an inexpensive one) Remember, I also have a CD ...

Odyssey "Khartago" Stereo Extreme" amp compared to Schitt's "Vidar" amp
To mtbrider:  Thanks for the heads up; I did see the listing on TMR. I just need to check out the authenticity of the model from the serial number and possibly talk to Klaus about the difference between standard Khartago and the Extreme version.yo...
Odyssey "Khartago" Stereo Extreme" amp compared to Schitt's "Vidar" amp
Thank you to all who have responded.  One of the reason I was considering the Khartago or Schmit  Vidar  is size.  I posted another thread a month ago about replacing my current BAT VK-200 with a smaller and lighter amp. The BAT at 70lbs  is heavy...
Need to replace a BAT VK200 amp with a smaller and lighter but with equal sound quality.
To rib61  I did not know that BAT offered a 225se  basic amp I never saw any listings on AG , or reviews. I am not worried about the power rating, but as noted above, only the size and weight of the amp.   I will check it out.  Thanks, S.J.
Need to replace a BAT VK200 amp with a smaller and lighter but with equal sound quality.
Thank you to those who responded so far.  To dep 14. You are right about this being a "tough one"  I saw a Bel Canto... e.ONE  REFERENCE 500S for sale, but it is older class D technology. However, I am still not sold that Class D amps have evolved...
Need to replace a BAT VK200 amp with a smaller and lighter but with equal sound quality.
To  Meschi, Good suggestion about the amp stand siting side by side to the rack, but it would be a tight  fit in  proximity to the back of the speakers, either left or right. The problem again would be access to the back of the amp, and also the t...

Thanks to  those that responded. Surely the, Schitt amp is an unbelievable  bargain at $699. Though the Benchmark seems like the one to buy.  However BM claims they are currently sold out of this fabulous amp because of demand .However, I was not ...
