TW-Acustic Arm
Best arm I've heard, and others I own are considered to be right up there as the best around. Ebm - totally with you on the wonderful fast bass - that's the immediate first thing I went wow about, then the detail, soundstage, and overall so-natura...

ORTOFON A90
Ortofon A-90 Tonality Question
I agree with Jtinn. Wait for it to bed-in and don't worry about the leanness - 20hrs is way too early to judge it properly. At about 100-or-so hrs (in my experience) it's just perfect throughout.
Troubles with Sound-Smith return communications?
I had a cartridge re-tip done by them for the first time last year and noticed they were up to their neck with work when I called one time to ask about when the cartridge would come back. Well, after about 3 or 4 months (can't remember exactly) it...

TW-Acustic Arm
How is everyone (who has one) getting on with this arm? I'm getting one so would be interested to hear from anyone who's had it a while now, and has got to know it, and also how it compares to other arms they've had - or still have? Also, any quirk...
hanss turntables
I'm the owner of a consonance droplet lp 5.0 Mk2 (also chinese) and auditioned it (at home over a couple of months) against a sheu analog das laufwerk and an origin live sovereign, all of which are considered top turntables, and the consonance was...

Indeed Dougdeacon, me too. I came up with a theory (at that time) that the pre-echo was the sound of the band in their room, seperate from the recording room, leaking through and getting onto tape from vibration in the walls - before the mic's pic...
Koetsu Blue Lace Onyx vs. Coralstone
I found the a90 needs a good 100+ hours. Listening in your own system is the only way to really tell how good something sounds - from my experience - and that's not possible with cartridges, of course, unless you have friends who have what you're ...
Koetsu Blue Lace Onyx vs. Coralstone
I agree Lewm, I enjoy the Koetsu but it just isn't close to what an a90 can do. I've also heard many cartridges and it's in a different league altogether from anything else - and particularly the Koetsu which I have to say, again, is seriously ove...
Koetsu Blue Lace Onyx vs. Coralstone
Fjn04 - Phono stage is Whest Ref V, arms I've used the carts with include Origin Live Conqueror, SME V, Ortofon 309-d (12"). TT is a Consonance LP5.0 Mk2.

Point taken Dougdeacon, I was simply responding to Elizabeth's post in which she said that "it does mean your system is very resolving".My late 70's 80's system was very poor and it could be heard easily with that.Cabbiendi says it's easy to hear ...
Do Blue Dots applied to LP labels improve sound?
Yes, they do! Let them mature for at least 18 months first. Preferably underground, wrapped in cloth from the shroud of turin (you can get some on e-bay). One of the best tweaks I've ever tried.
Koetsu Blue Lace Onyx vs. Coralstone
I've owned an Onyx Platinum for a couple of years now and in my experience the Koetsu's are overpriced and agree with stringreen's comment about them being "eye candy". I'm now an Ortofon a90 user and it's superior in every area. The Koetsu doesn'...

Interesting points that hearing is is the sign of a very good resolving system, as my experience is that pre-echo can be heard with a very basic system. I used to listen late at night with headphones, at low volumes, and could hear it with many re...
