How fair is this?
Pawlowski6132, the seller did highlight his tactics. There's nothing underhanded here, as it's clearly stated that the higher bid of the two sites wins.If you don't like it then don't bid. Jeez it's only a piece of hifi equipment !
Helping European Friend Avoid Bose Speakers
Shadorne, for pure aesthetics I don't think you can beat the slightly retro look of Harbeth.Watch out for Tottenham court road. You might land a good deal, but you also might have to haggle hard. Those vendors can spot an easy dupe a mile away.
How fair is this?
Pawlowski6132, not at all. Feel free to "play" me all you like. If I like your offer I'll sell to you, if I don't I won't.People, what's so difficult about this: sellers are not obliged to sell and buyers and not obligated to buy. Go buy someone e...
How fair is this?
It's just you. The seller is just trying to get the best price. I can't see any problem with this. If you really want it enter your bid on both websites.
Small bookshelfs that reach 42 hz
Personally I think may floorstanders look better than monitors on stands, unless the stands are exceptionally well integrated with the speakers.Would she go for narrow baffle floorstanders like AP Virgos ?One other question is how far from rear an...
Helping European Friend Avoid Bose Speakers
Try a posting at www.pinkfishmedia.netThis is a UK based hifi web board with a fairly broad base of contributors. There are many linn/naim devotees, but also many users of many other brands. When I was living in the UK I always liked Cyrus electron...
Best bang for the buck turntable?
Kthomas, if money is not a problem then you can buy whatever you want. If you are purchasing a TT to be able to explore new music not available on CD then that is also a very good reason.Where I think it is a mistake to purchase a TT is if the goa...
Will an anti-jitter / upsampling device pass AC3?
You can often cure crosstalk by connecting the sources on alternating inputs (1-3-5 etc), and short circuiting the intervening inputs (2-4 etc). To make the short circuit I take the junk interconnects that often come with the components, snip them...
sampling rate confusion
If you use the analog outputs of the MF SACD then sampling rates are not significant. Internally the MF will be upsampling to 192kHz prior to the D2A stage. If you take the digital output of the MF SACD then it will be non-upsampled 44.1kHz, redboo...
Rega planar 3 bearing and oil
The bearing is 3/16 inch. From my confirmation email from Boca bearings :3/16IN-C Si3N4 GR.5 BALLS (Ea.) $3.95 I've been using this bearing for about a year now and played probably several hundred hours on it. It seems fine. Like I mentioned above,...
Arcam Delta 290 with weak channel
"So if the volume DOES weaken at all volumes, what else could it be? capacitors?"At that point I'm afraid I'm out of suggestions, but with electronics connections and moving parts are the most likely points of failure.Check if the imbalance is the...
DSP'ing a CD
Great post Shadorne. Thanks.
Best bang for the buck turntable?
As the owner of a P3 (with a Michel Tecnoweight and Funk Achromat, both of which are significant upgrades on stock) and being the owner of a $1k CD setup I have to say that I don't think a P3 could compete with a decent $3k CD player. The P3 is IM...
Arcam Delta 290 with weak channel
Is the weakening the same at all volume levels ? If so it's not likley the potentiometer. If the weakening is more pronounced at certain volume levels, specifically those you most regularly use (usually the lower portion of the volume range) then ...
DSP'ing a CD
Tarsando ... that's fine if there's enough horsepower to do it in real time. Doing in non-real-time might be a possibility to allow the use of non-specialized hardware (a PC, for example) or to allow more accurate filters to be used.
