B&W 800 D4's, Room size, & general Q's
I rarely feel compelled to post on Augiogon, but in this case, I felt obligated to address some of the responses on this post. I owned the 800D3s in the past, and have also owned at some point top range Tannoy, Sonus Faber, and Wilson Audio. I str...
Advice on amplifier and B&W speaker pairing
Thanks for the feedback everyone. The speakers will arrive tomorrow and I'll be testing both the Nagra and ARC with them. I'm not really sure what to expect, but based on a few of the comments here, it sounds like the 150SE may work perfectly fine...
Advice on amplifier and B&W speaker pairing
Thank you Erik - I appreciate the feedback and do realize this is a difficult question to answer based on the information I've provided. As you say, listening is the best test, but I'm not terribly familiar with how electrical components (tubes/tr...
ps audio bridge
I agree with Edorr's suggestion of getting help from a friend who is comfortable with home networks (assigning IP, protocols, DNS). I luckily work in the IT field and was very familiar with all parts of the setup. However, I did want a very simple...
ps audio bridge
I own the PS Audio DAC with bridge and feel it was one of my better investments. To not get the Bridge interface, in my opinion, is to cheat yourself. And really, why even get this DAC if not for the bridge? I've come to the conclusion that most i...
Can you compare NAD C370 with Portal Panache Int.
BTW - I have had Yamaha, Onix, NAD, and Bel Canto amps. None of these ever made any noise, at all. It was just with the Portal Panache amps. Perhaps they are extra sensitive to dirty power.
Can you compare NAD C370 with Portal Panache Int.
I had the Portal Panache for quite a while, and loved every single minute. I don't think I've ever heard such great midrange, silky and smooth. It made my Sonus Fabers soar. But, I had problems with an audible buzz that would come through the spea...
Bel Canto left channel cutting out with distortion
I definitely love the Bel Canto. The sound is very hard to describe, it is so much different than my previous Portal Audio and NAD amps. I don't notice the excessive detail or recessed midrange, but perhaps it just compliments my Sonus Fabers. One...
Bel Canto left channel cutting out with distortion
I have decided to just bite the bullet and send the amp to Bel Canto. I am hoping it won't cost me an arm and a leg to fix... How nice to live so close incase something happens to your evo. : )
Sonus Faber Grand Piano Home vs Concerto Domus
You are right Nasaman, there was a pair of maple GP Homes for sale. I tried to buy them. Too late...
Sonus Faber Grand Piano Home vs Concerto Domus
For anyone that is interested... Because of a random encounter and perfect timing, I was able to fulfill my dream and purchase a pair of Grand Piano Home speakers. I love the speakers and know I made the right choice. Beautiful speakers that produ...
Sonus Faber Grand Piano Home vs Concerto Domus
Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I think my mind was already made up in the matter, and you all confirmed it. I should just wait out for the GPs. I have heard many speakers before, and for some reason the Grand Piano sound just stays with me.I...
New system, need help on CD Player.
Timrhu, so you got rid of the evo and the resolution audio cdp? I am curious to know what you replaced both with.
New system, need help on CD Player.
I should mention that the Audio Aero Prima is the MKII version, not the newest one.
Naim CD5i a decent upgrade?
Perhaps the naim might not be the upgrade I was looking for... It sounds like maybe my Primare needs more credit than I am giving it.
