Best amplifier for Tannoy GRF Memory HE
Normally I would just enjoy reading the forum articles and stay quiet. But not everyday you run into Tannoy and OTL lovers.I have a pair of Westminster Royal (not the HE) and drive them with Nagra VPA or Tenor 75Wp both with good result. I used to...
Have you ever deceived your wife-audio purchase
It could be very interesting to conduct another survey, say, in 5 years just see if any of us are still staying married.
beginners tube tester direction needed
Depending on how far you want to go, you probably can't go too wrong with B&K 700 or 747. A high end model would be Hickok 539B or C or other 5XX-series. Make a note you must have the lookup table/manual otherwise the tester is essentially use...
Mozarts boomy-help
The biggest reason for boommy bass is that your amplifier is unable to control the woofer movement properly due to poor damping. The best fix is to bump up the impedance of the speakers using a device named autoformer. It essentially multiply the ...
Flipping the LP over ...
Unless you have a low-torque motor such as the ones used by Nottingham and the platter essentially stopped when you tried to hold the LP, leaving it spinning is an open invitation for disaster. Unless your timing is perfect every time, even if you...

ARC Ref Phono should not be left out.
Aquariums and Audio Equipment
All but one post actually talked about the negative impact of the a huge tank toward the music. There is no way it will help your music with a big piece of glass in between speakers. It will throw off the image and make the bright brighter.I once ...

The brightness of your Helikon will not go away. Helikon is a very revealing cartridge. Analytical and detail but I would not use warm and musical to describe it. Shouldn't use it with gears like Wilson or German Physics. Sonus Faber or Vienna may...
Need help - Set up Helikon using test LP

A Little Hypocrisy?
I don't think the people who have been bitching and moaning about CD prices are the same group of folks who spend $10K on speakers and $5K on CD players.
Dust Covers
Guys,The biggest problem for me choosing the fabric to polish. I love the micro-fibre cloth used for my eye-glasses but it is simply too small. All other cloth leaves residues.Any suggestions?
Dust Covers
The best I've tried is definitely 3M Swirl Mark Remover. I know a lot of high end dealers use it. It works well for both acrylic and plastic dust cover. The effect normally last a few weeks.
Which VPI LP Cleaning Machine?
I use Torumat cleaning fluid with great result. However, I would be most grateful if someone can reveal a good secret formula for low-to-medium income audiophiles to buy the chemicals and produce the solution ourselves. After all, how hard can it ...
Advice on MC cartidge for vintage records?
I'd recommend a Koetsu Rosewood Standard or a used Urushi, if you can find one.
Which VPI LP Cleaning Machine?
I've been waiting for a used 17F for nearly two years on Audiogon to replace my Nitty Gritty 1.5fi. After missing nearly 5 listings I finally gave up and bought one from Elusivedisc which is only $125 more than the last one that I missed. It came ...
