Silverline Sonatina II - MODs?
I'll add something. Not sure about the II's, but the binding posts on my Sonatina I's are not very good. I bypassed them and direct-soldered my anti-cables to the internal wires. Reversible but a bit risky. Upside is greater detail and dynamics (w...
Tweeter for Audio note AN-E : SEAS or Foster/toneg
Why don't you ask on the audio note forum on audioasylum?
Tonearm re-wire - what would you use?
I just rewired a Nottingham arm with Ikeda silver wire. Depending on the arm, I think it's not that difficult and well worth the $ and effort.
$300 Budget - help
Sitting at the back table of a topless bar nursing a beer is still more of a visceral experience then watching a porn flick online (er, that's my attempt at an analogy for vinyl vs cd). Frankly, playing records puts the fun back into music.. and j...
I built my own Turntable and here are the results
Lewm, curious why believe the solid link between arm pod and main bearing is necessary?
Is it worth upgrading tonearm wiring
Thuchan, where did you find Zyx siver wiring?
Impossible? Small towers, efficient, musical, loud
Considering the room, have you considered speakers that are actually designed to go against the wall/corners? Thinking Audio Note AN/E or J.. maybe Klipsch? I have Silverline Sonatina 1st generation.. they're laid back and throw a wide & deep ...
Tonearm Upgrade for Spacedeck
Wow, nice to know the Spacedeck can play well with a Schroder. Slightly less expensive then the Schroder 2, you could install a Riggle VTAF adjuster on your Nott arm.
Convert Spacedeck from 240v/50htz to 110v/60htz

Speaker Recommendations for Soundstage and Imaging
Listening position: Can you try a different layout - bring the speakers 1/3 of the way (about 6') out into the room, and move your chair back to about about 4' from rear wall?. This way the speakers will have more room for soundstaging, revealing ...
Speaker Recommendations for Soundstage and Imaging
Coincident eclipse, Silverline 1st generation Sonatina's, Cain&Cain Abbeys or other matches for SET tube amplification.. soundstaging and 3d holographic (as opposed to 2d "cookie cutter") imaging are what SET tube amplification will get you. C...
Can I match or beat my digital, and at what cost?
A used Nottingham Spacedeck sounds nice for the price.
stock denon 103 vs. zu for my vintage rig
Get a 103 and upgrade it with a Uwe wood body! This combo sounds great to me and at about $300 it possibly rivals the Zu, which is really just an aluminum body updgrade.. but who knows.. anyone ever do a direct comparison?
Quiet Tonearms/cartidges??
Er, I meant blemishes in the film print.
