Ascend Sierra's or Energy Veritas 2.2i
I actually have the A-88T as well and I'm close to in the same boat as you. I am looking at the Sierra-1, VMPS QSO 626 and the Silverline Minuet. I'll have to look up the 2.2i. I notice you posted awhile back. Did you ever decide? I'd love to hear...

Beavis:Your link does not work for me.Magnumpi205:I've checked out the Pacific Valve website. I am not sure I found the specific amplifier you were directing me to but I am very interested in the Ming Da MC 34AB 07. It seems to be a very good valu...
Phono Pre for Grado Statement Reference 0.5mV
Thanks for the replies!I am actually just getting into vinyl. The turntable would be a VPI Scoutmaster. I am looking at pairing the Grado with either the Wright WPP-200C or the Quicksilver phono at the moment. Both are less than a thousand and are...
VPI Scoutmaster vs. Clearaudio Performance
Thanks for the replies. I am not sure which cartridge I would want. I know that I do not want it to be too expensive as I will already be a bit stretched. They are both nice looking tables but I really am more concerned with the sound. Unfortunate...
Electrocompaniet ECD-1 or Audio Logic 24MXL

DeHavilland UltraVerve or Shindo Aurieges?
The speakers (VMPS RM30M) are 4 ohms, the preamp (Shindo Aurieges) is 5K and the amp (NuForce 9SE V.2) is 45K. I'm afraid I am not good with impedance matching - does anyone know of any good books or sites that explain it well?I've done a bit of r...
Freak Me Out
Here's another: Threnody to the Victims of Hiroshima by Krzysztof Penderecki. The 1994 recording with the Polish Radio National Symphony Orchestra is the best interpretation I've heard yet.One of the most chilling pieces of music ever composed IMO.
what concerts do you wish you attended?
Julian Bream - before he retiredAndres Segovia - before he passed awayGulliani, Aguado, Tarrega - 19th century guitaristsPegannini(?)- said by some to be greatest violinist who has ever livedOther classical artists and composers, etc. Many living ar...
Freak Me Out
Try Bass Communion - a sub-project of Porcupine Tree's front-man Steve Wilson.
Break in period for albums.?
I have that experience often. A "so-so" reaction to the mood of the music, what it is trying to "be" or convey to the listener, etc. is either because I don't understand it (or "feel" it) at first and may take some repeated listening for me to app...
