Some thoughts on ASR and the reviews
I recently compared CDs ripped to the internal SSD on my Eversolo A8 to the same music from Qubuz at 16/44. So both are going through the same DAC. The ripped music sounds quite a bit better than the streamed. It’s not subtle. I highly doubt that...
Eversolo DMP-A8 vs iPhone plugged directly to integrated amp - why no difference?
I have the A8 and it’s the best sounding digital source I’ve ever had. Have all my CDs on the internal SSD. Makes for a very convenient way to access all my 400 or so CDs. High rez streaming from Qobuz sounds great. The DAC settings are subtle but...
Some thoughts on ASR and the reviews
One could fill a room with charts and graphs and still not know how a system sounds.   Even assuming that everything that can be heard can be measured - which is a big assumption - we don't know how to comprehensively and reliably translate that....
Digital LP’s
^Because it's higher rez and sounds better than cd.
Digital LP’s
CDs are never high rez. They are constrained to 16/44 . LPs are usually mastered from 24/96 or higher, so at least have a chance at being true high rez. Everyone seems to miss this point. It matters a lot.
Digital LP’s
@abnerjack Because it’s essentially the only way to get high resolution recordings into the house. The closest high rez digital gets is from places like Qobuz which streams some music at 24/196, and SACD and DVD audio which I believe is roughly th...
Digital LP’s
Most modern recordings are made digitally, these days. They're just made at much higher resolutions and bitrates than what comes out on CD (16/44) and various other download formats. Usually, the digital masters will use a resolution of at lea...
Digital LP’s
Virtually all vinyl is now mastered from digital. My best sounding vinyl are these. It’s all about the bit rate of the mastering. If it’s redbook (16/44) it will sound no better than CD, which IMO is not very good.   Most albums are now mastered a...

Measurements are worse than useless other than for the audio engineers in the design phase.
Why do Wav and Flac Files Sound Different?
Now you tell me Dave and Troy !. After the OP  I re ripped all 400 CDs to wave.  Now I have to re-rip back to FLAC so I can have cover art again.    I wish you guys would make up my mind.  Maybe I'll just wait for the thread to stop and count the...
Why do Wav and Flac Files Sound Different?
and I just ripped about 400 CDs in FLAC at the "5" setting.....onto the SSD of my Eversolo A8 So now I want to A/B the rip with the original CD, because the rips sound fine to me but haven't compared them back to back.
Youtube audiophile hi res sounds MUCH better than my Eversolo streamer
How are you getting YT through your stereo?  It must be going through a DAC somewhere?
Eversolo DMP -A8 Server,Dac, Streamer,Preamp - best bang for the Buck
dz13 said "I used a thumb drive to transfer my files and they showed up as individual files on the SSD. You then have to move the SSD files to the Library which was limited to a select each file individually (file being an artist’s file). "   I’...
High End System Building. How important is the matching, cabling and room? Thoughts ?
An interesting experiment would be to take two DPDT switches like these And hook up two competing cables. With a simple throw of the switch one could easily A/B test cables. I wonder why this isn’t done by the cable sellers at audio shows. It wou...
High End System Building. How important is the matching, cabling and room? Thoughts ?
I like my 12 gauge radio shack cables to be flexible so they drape from ceiling to the Maggies hung from it.  I think I have a few soldered splices in one of them because I didn't have a long enough length.  So they match the small room.   I mean...
