Clever Little Clock - high-end audio insanity?
Eldartford and Pableson. Do you agree that there are things that science has yet to prove or explain? I try to keep an open mind and truly believe that there is a spiritual side to life. Is the great majority of the World ignorant to believe in Go...
Clever Little Clock - high-end audio insanity?
Ok. Maybe that is a bad example. Though science has an explanation for it, I still question whether everyone can walk on white hot coals without burning their feet - just by walking fast. Which still leads me to believe there may be something beyo...
Clever Little Clock - high-end audio insanity?
This is an entertaining thread. I feel that science cannot explain all of our experiences. How does science exlain that some people can walk barefoot on hot coals and not burn their feet? I believe it's in the power of the mind. I have yet to hear...
What are the Best FM tuners?
Don - I just today hooked up the Nikko Gamma 5 that you sent to me. I'm running it without the Winegard Yagi antenna, which I just recieved today. Initial impressions - WOW!!! It's receiving many stations with 75' of coax just coiled and laying on...
Anyone done TRL mod on Ah Tjoeb?
The email I received from TRL didn't give anything up. They indicated that their work is satisfaction guaranteed and no one has ever been disappointed, ie. taken them up on their guarantee. They've modded many Marantz units but didn't indicate any...
Acoustic ceiling paint???
Thanks for the suggestions. I'm hoping I can persuade my wife to soften her inflexible interior design tastes. I've come to the conclusion that anything other than acoustic panels with some depth will be a compromise in sound.
quicksilver amps and preamps any thoughts ??
Jordi,With your off the wall responses to this and other threads, I just assumed you were a "troll". I googled Mike Klementovich and sure enough - you're the real deal (as long as you're really Mike). Isn't the internet amazing. Anyway, I'm an avi...
quicksilver amps and preamps any thoughts ??
Hi Ben,I've had Minimites for the past year and am still amazed by their exceptional value. They are driving Klipsch Forte's and are a great match. I plan on auditioning the Horn Monos to see if I can draw that last bit of inner detail out of the ...
Meadowlark Kestrel II vs. Soliloquy 6.2
Howard - I didn't mean to mislead you by saying I'm a "Moots rider". Moots sponsors a racing team based in Steamboat Springs, Colorado (where the bikes are made). I race a Moots bicycle in NJ. Actually I've retired from racing but continue to trai...
Meadowlark Kestrel II vs. Soliloquy 6.2
Howard,I'll take your advice and start working on my wife with a bit of finesse. Somewhere between the shoulder massage and the foot rub I'll get her to agree to my ways with her signature scribbled on the binding agreement. Hehehehe.I'm beginning...
Meadowlark Kestrel II vs. Soliloquy 6.2
Rysa4 - I'm not familiar with the Usher 6 series speakers. I'll certainly give them a listen.Boa2 - I do like the sound of Klipsch (at least the vintage series) matched with the Quicksilver amps. The very simple mods I've done to them have been as...
Spectacular Drum Set?
I'll second Mickey Hart/Airto "Dafos". It was recorded in a theater in San Fran in the early 80's. I have it on CD released by Referance Recordings and can only imagine how good it must sound on 45 rpm LP.To qoute the liner, "Consider that the sou...
Floorstanders for small rooms? Budget $1200 used
Marco - How do the 5.3's compare to your Klipsch Heresy's. I'm also considering a set of floorstanders in this price range. My present equipment is: Ah! Njoe Tjoeb CD player w/upsampler, Eastern Electric Minimax Preamp, Quicksilver MiniMite amps, ...
Best Bike to ride before a good listening session
I ride a Moots Ti road bike with Campy Record 10 and Mavic Ksyrium Wheels. I raced many years on steel, then I tested a ti frame and couldn't believe the ride. Spectacular!!!
Vandersteen question
Thanks for all the responses. I plan on auditioning the Vandys at some point in my home but it sounds like 25 w/ch will certainly limit them. Are there any other speaker recommendations that will mate well with my Quicksilver amps? I'm hoping to f...
