Hearing Aids
@ratboysr  Great.  You can create multiple customized programs.  You could have one for jazz, and other programs for other genres of music.
Hearing Aids
@ratboysr, I have the previous model, the Widex Evoke 440.  I found that using the SoundSense Learn program to customize the sound, while listening to music, allowed me to create an equalization curve that made music much more enjoyable than the M...
Klipsch Cornwall IV
@saburo, you wrote  "My only nit to pick is tonality of some instruments."  Since the CW IV is said to not have horn colorations, would you mind giving more detail on your comment. Thanks.
Cheap hearing aids?
@ptss, yes it was like trading up to higher quality audio equipment.  Smoother, richer, more details, but still dynamic.  The OTC hearing aids were a little rough sounding compared to the more expensive ones.  You may want to check with an audiolo...
Cheap hearing aids?
mijostyn, I believe they were $3,500, versus $5,500 at the ENT Dr.'s office.  The Widex Moment that hifijunkey bought, and linked to the reviews in his earlier post, is a newer model and was not available when I bought mine.  Of course the ENT Dr....
Cheap hearing aids?
ptss, I have the Widex Evoke 440.  They have programs for your phone that include an equilizer and volume for each ear that are adjustable as you listen, to fine tune them for music.  At the time I purchased them 18 months ago, my research indicat...
Cheap hearing aids?
You may want to look into Simplicity Hi Fi 270 by General Hearing.  They are analog, designed for musicians, and have a 60 day return policy.  I used them for a few years until I moved on to more expensive Widex digital hearing aids.
Orchid vs TUBADOUR III - Help me choose
Hi klh007.  I have the MHDT Paradisea +.  MHDT is the company who makes the Orchid.  The Paradisea is an earlier MHDT model than the Orchid.  It was a nice DAC for it's day, tube buffer, NOS, and very musical.  Jeff Day, now at Positive Feedback O...
Orchid vs TUBADOUR III - Help me choose
I am very interested in seeing Teajay's Audio Mirror DAC review.  I am trying to choose among the Orchid, the Tubadour III, and the Border Patrol DAC's.  I have been using the MHDT Paradisea+ for many years and am looking for an upgrade with high ...

Tekton Double Impacts
charles1dad,I'm using Svetlana 300b's in Manley Retro's.  That is what came with the amps probably 17  years ago.  They are hard to find now, so I have a few spares on hand.  When they get used up, I may have to go to the big league 300b's like yo...

Tekton Double Impacts
I'm the local audiophile that heard the Encore's at Jonathan's home on Friday evening.  The Nord was spectacular on the Kodo drums, but the Diavolo was like hearing live music in a great sounding venue!  I heard the Elrog 300b's and we discussed t...
Duelund DCA16GA
Has anyone here made a comparison of broken in interconnects made with Duelund dca16ga vs dca20ga yet?  Jeff Day's comments were "very preliminary".
Fuses that matter.
I had the same experience that Strateahead had. The SR Red was a bit bright in my system as well. The AH and Red both added more depth and bigger sound stage, but the AH allowed for a richer tonal balance. I had been using the SR20 fuses with the ...
