Harbeth P3ESR - What electronics are you using?
I've heard them with a Leben CS300XS which had a nice room filling sound, but I currently run them with a Rega Brio-R. Best combination of gear I have heard in a long time.
guitar solos where less is more
Ritchie Blackmore's solo on 'Hold On' from Stormbringer album. Every time I hear that, it just makes me feel so good. Not a single wasted note in the whole solo.
At what volume do you typically listen?
I generally listen at peak levels of 75 db or less (C weighted slow on my RS meter). If the wife is not home, maybe I get up to 80db or so (for a little while). I am glad to hear that I am not the only one who listens at lower levels.
Beth Hart & Joe Bonamassa-"Don't Explain"
I heard BCC and did not like it at all. I saw a bunch of clips on YouTube of Joe and none of them impressed me. My bro gave me a CD he had recorded and that did not impress me either. A total yawn. I saw him live in small hall here in Orlando and ...
Zu Soul Superfly
I have been following this thread with interest. I was already to buy some Reynaud Bliss speakers based solely on reviews and emails from Bob Neil, then I saw this thread. I had not thought about Zu Druids before because they were 4 ft high and I ...
Lost that "Tube Magic". Can you help?
Like many of the other posters, I think CJ is probably the direction you should be looking towards.
My girl friend is a genius
I think at lower volumes you end up listening to the music instead of the stereo.
Most musical integrated amp you have heard?
I'll second the Leben CS300XS. A good combination of the realness of tubes and the toe-tapping PRaT of Naim or Exposure.
Phono preamp evolution

Are there any Harbeth owners in central Florida?
Muzikat,Thanks for the info. Maybe I'll have to add another post asking about Devore owners in central Florida :-) BTW, what amp did you use with each of these speakers?Mike
Are there any Harbeth owners in central Florida?
Muzikat,Considering you are in the enviable position of having heard both speakers, could you elaborate a little more on why you think the Devore's may be a better match. Specwise, they look similar except that the Gibbon's go down lower. I think ...
Looking for a first Tube Amp for under $1000
I agree with the TAD-60 since it is so versatile. It allows you to hear a variety of tubes, it has on the fly feedback and on the fly switching between UL and triode modes. It can also be used as an amp or a single input integrated. I learned a lo...
Review: Consonance CD-120 Linear CD Player
I have had a CD 120 Linear for a few months now and it is the first CD player I have ever had that I actually like to listen to. Before that, I listened to CD only because I had to. The main feature for me is the excellent PRaT. I don't remember g...
Review: Tube Audio Design TAD-60 Tube amp
For those of you interested in PRaT (pace, rhythm and timing), how does this amp do in that regard?Mike
Best place to connect phono preamp to Fisher 500C?
I use my Linn LP-12 with a Fisher 400. I bought a step up preamp from KAB and he modified it to boost the .23mV output of my Dyna 17D2 to the 4.5mV needed by the Fisher. Works great. The Fisher is great at preserving the PRaT from the LP12.
