The OHM Speakers and Class D amp thread
It's very early on, but so far I'm very, very impressed with the Class D 470. Expected the bass grip and power in the low end, but didn't expect the spaciousness and soundstage benefits. Timbres are very accurate as well. Hearing things out of my ...
The OHM Speakers and Class D amp thread
Hey Mapman - enjoy your posts. I have a pair of Ohm 2.2000s (vintage 2 cabinets with new 2000 drivers) and await the arrival (tomorrow, Joaquin-willing) of a Class D Audio SDS 470C amplifier. Will let you know how it goes.

Hi Rebbi,I've really enjoyed your blog inspiring!A while back, in your original thread about amplifiers (before you chose the AN kid), I mentioned Common Sense Audio's affordable Audio Nirvana SET, which impressed me at RMAF. They also offer high ...

What's the greatest bargain in SET these days?
Hi Mapman (and everyone else!) - As fellow Ohm owner (Walsh 2000 drivers in a Walsh 2 cabinet), I'm curious about exploring a Class D / Tube amp combination (I'm currently using an Anthem 225 integrated)...but I'm not entirely clear about what to ...
Advice - What turntable should I buy ???
For your needs, I'd keep it simple...a pre-packaged combo like a Clearaudio Concept w/MM, Music Hall MMF 5.1 w/MM, VPI Nomad (or Traveler if you can stretch ), Rega P3 with cart, etc. Lots of great choices at this price point. What may be more imp...

Not sure why I feel compelled to defend the man, but I can assure you Dave's on the up-and-up. He's got a thriving business in the heart of New England, he's a good guy, an his work is exceptional. He's a pro in every sense of the word.
3k to spend...
FWIW, Well Tempered and Dynavector are literally made for each other, and the Dynavector preamp is a nice little unit that is obviously optimized for the company's own carts- so there's definitely synergy going on there. The Amadeus is also one of...

Personally, I'd grab a restored table from Vinyl Nirvana fitted with a cart of Dave's recommendation (he knows the tables and the tonearms quite well and often offers discounts on new carts), then pick the preamp based on the output of the cart. Y...

Nice choice. Enjoy, and Happy Thanksgiving!
Advice from apartment dwellers
Interesting Larryi...I was very impressed with Clayton Shaw's new Hologram M1s at this year's RMAF, which features a dipole bass driver. They have a little brother (the M2) that would be more appropriate for my space. Does dipole really make that ...
Advice from apartment dwellers
Hi Phase - no, north of that...ergo the hesitation. They are routinely fetching $850+ these days by my research, which puts them in another territory (considering they're a 13-year-old+ speaker).
What's the greatest bargain in SET these days?
All legit concerns, Rebbi. In my experience, David does tend to be a bit hyperbolic as well, so take that for what it's worth. But what I heard sounded great, and given the topic at hand thought the AN was worth mentioning. It sounds like this migh...
What's the greatest bargain in SET these days?
Rebbi, the 300B with David's "5.6" model speakers (with his proprietary 15" AN drivers) were among my favorite combinations at RMAF this year...at all of $3.5K total for the pair (including the speaker build). The incongruity between sound and pri...
