Leonard Cohen In Concert--WOW
I saw an interview with Leonard Cohen once. The interviewer asked him why he always looks so serene and somewhat stiff when he sings. He said: "I can't dance". Hilarious.
Here's a real cool toe tapper
Wonderful. Thanks for posting!
Add Headshell weight to track better?
In the 60's and 70's in college, the thing to do was to scotch tape a penny to the top of the headshell. I guess we don't do that anymore...On a somewhat more serious note, I presume you've washed your records. On a definitely more serious note, ma...
US only sales WHY???
It works both ways guys. Every problem that exists in selling to somebody outside of the U.S. also exists when selling to somebody in the U.S.Buying or selling internationally is not a problem if both sides know what they are doing, especially wit...
Would you pay to audition speakers
I came across this with a dealer who sold a particular brand of amp. This was long before the internet age where people might take advantage of a dealer and then buy online. I believe the policy applied to models other than the ones he had on demo...
LAST - then and now?
I do not use LAST myself, so I have no opinion as to whether it produces sonic improvements or not. However, I am curious as to how this stuff is supposed to work. According to a post above, the LAST people say it alters the chemical composition o...
Linn DS as outboard digital converter
One other thing I forgot to mention in my previous post. At the Linn website there is a users' forum, one of which is dedicated to the new DS components. That would be a good source of information from other Linn users. Here is the link.http://www...
Linn DS as outboard digital converter
The Linn DS does not have inputs other than ethernet so it can't connect directly to a CD player. You mnight be able to do it indirectly through a multi room Knekt system but I'm not sure as I'm not familiar with Linn Knekt systems.
How Important is 240hrz processing verus 120 Hrz?
Well, would it be a surprise if people told you to have a look and see which you prefer? That seems too simple though so I'll tell you what I think, since you asked. And then the following posts will tell you that I'm totally full of beans and sho...
Sensual Music
"Actually "Avalon" is by Roxy Music."Well, if you want to split hairs, Roxy Music was the first group to record Bryan Ferry's "Avalon". He was the composer.
Sensual Music
I recall reading about a survey at one time in the past that said Bryan Ferry's "Avalon" was one of the most popular "bedroom" tunes.
what is the theory behind maple stands and racks?
Audiofeil, you are correct in that most baseball bats are traditionally made of ash. A few years ago, maple became the trendy new bat when MLB approved the "Sam" bat made by a guy in Canada. When Barry Bonds adopted the maple bats, they started to...
Linn Advice Please
I believe that your dealer means well and that the Majik 6100/Majik 109 combo will be better than the Akurate 4200/Katan combo....but...at what cost? And is the increase in performance worth the extra cost to you?First the amp.The Chakra technolog...
3/4 amp vs. 1/2 amp
The rule that "bigger is better" doesn't apply to fuses. The purpose of a fuse is for it to blow before something downstream does.Using a smaller one means that you may be starving the component from getting the current it needs. It won't hurt the...
what is the theory behind maple stands and racks?
Your question and comments don't apply only to maple. They are equally relevant to any type of wood. A search of the archives will turn up some threads on glass versus metal versus wood racks/stands.Why is maple often used as opposed to any other ...
