Parasound JC1 or Spectron Musician 3 se
Sarcher,Rereading your original post you stated that you are currently using the A21. Stepping up to the JC-1's is a huge jump in output and control. The A21 has 250W and 60 amps peak per channel. The JC-1 has 400W and 135 amps peak per channel. A...

The JC1's are a top choice for those that drive Soundlab speakers. I believe the load is similar between the Soundlabs and the Innersounds. You have a beautiful set of speakers, as one member wrote "you probably will love both". It's tough to sugg...
Sanders sound or parasound for big ESL's
Tpsonic,That begs the question. How much did the conversion cost and did you feel it made a significant difference in performance? Two 300ESL's at approximately $1200 each is $2400 plus the conversion and shipping may be pushing $3K. At that price...
Sanders sound or parasound for big ESL's
Coffeey,No need for apology. I understand your meaning now. No worries.Ejlif,I am surprised you clipped the 300's easily. Your Eros speakers must be quite a load or possibly your amp was running at less-than-optimal condition? Can the ESL 300 be r...
Sanders sound or parasound for big ESL's
Mike,Thank you for your educated response. I have read every available review on the innersound amp and continue to be suprised at how well it's covered. Very neutral, loads of power and stable throughout the vastly-ranging load the SL's produce. ...
Sanders sound or parasound for big ESL's
I thought the JC-1's might be a finer amplifier but for the money your right, it's tough to argue the Innersound value. The JC-1's are around $3500 used, over $2000 more than the innersound. There may not be a $2000 difference to be heard, though ...
Anyone going Phantom Center Channel?
Electro,I would love to run a matched center but the A-1's are 7 ft. tall and 39" wide. That is one of the reasons I was thinking of running phantom in the first place. The A-1's also deliver and exceptionally large stage with a huge sweet spot. T...
Anyone going Phantom Center Channel?
Chazro,I will ultimately be running front projection in the room but I like your thinking. I am going to run a surround for movies. I do like the rear fill, doors slamming, cars running past, that sort of thing. My goal was to just eliminate the c...
Anyone going Phantom Center Channel?
interesting on the maggie on the side info. MYE actually makes a stand for it on their website for just such a setup. I don't doubt the factory told you not to do it, just interesting they build a stand for it. Also wondering why the speaker would...
Anyone going Phantom Center Channel?
Great responses. Yes, I have thought about running phantom center channel for a while. If you are going to do it properly your surround system has to have it as an option or you will loose all the voices without a center. With the dispersion of th...
Amps on the cheap....real cheap
i will continue to keep a look out for a used esl 300 or sanders 300. I think that might be a great stop gap. I am currently upgrading the backing plates anyway so I have some time to look. Thanks for all the ideas.
Amps on the cheap....real cheap
How do you upgrade the adcom? Who might be qualified to do that and what would it cost?I was trying to get the speakers up and running tonight, the right channel on the adcom was lighting up the distortion sensor on the front of the amp quite a bi...
Amps on the cheap....real cheap
Thanks for all the replies guys, I do like the esl idea, I have heard pretty good things about them. Carver too. Keep the ideas coming, I know there is a large group of people out there that are like me, looking for a stop gap, or newer younger pe...
Budget subwoofer needed
Go infinite baffle. You can build one cheap if you have a little skill and they will blow the doors off anything you can buy at the store.http://ibsubwoofers.proboards51.com/index.cgi
Spectron Musician III SE Mk.2? What Changed?
Either he has a great sense of humor or the spectron rep is an ass. 7 grand is a ton a cash to throw down on a piece of gear. You would think people would be a little more sensative to price increases. Especially considering the options for equipm...
