Is there any streamer/integrated competitor to NAD C-388 w/BluOS2i MDC?
The models I listed of course are all less than half the price of the nad, so whether one considers them competitors at the price point is subjective, I suppose.  Just pointing out models with the feature sets.  I'm not as familiar with offerings ...

Don’t think so, no.
Only $800 to work with streamer/power for 3rd system
Took the plunge on a new white Bluesound Powernode 2. Pretty pumped, as got it for less than price of new Node 2i. Price kept dropping to point couldn’t pass up. Same amp and dac as Powernode 2i, just lacks some wireless, Bluetooth and Airplay fun...
Review of TEAC NT-505
Yep I run mine fixed volume output to my integrated amp
Review of TEAC NT-505
Agree!I use mine as a streamer/dac fed by ethernet and it’s great. Have posted my thoughts/reviews on the NT-505 across various other threads.Have you settled on upconvert and filter settings that you prefer?I prefer upconvert to DSD512 with the "...
Only $800 to work with streamer/power for 3rd system
Well as I anticipated several weeks ago when Denon released its new streaming stereo receiver, today Marantz announced the nr1200 for $549 and it looks very interesting. Marantz had big gap of no stereo receivers in their lineup and nice to see it...
Best speakers for HT usage?
Triad has a phenomenal following for HT, lots of options there
DynAudio Contour 60 vs Paradigm Persona 7F
Wow those two choices are really different sounding speakers!Personal preference but I preferred Dynaudio house sound to that of Paradigm, and I’d venture even more so when driven by Hegel. Dyn/Hegel seems like a pretty sweet pairing. I’d need a b...
Speaker Recommendations - from Vandersteen 5As
I guess the Spendor D9 would be a better comparison for you than D7 against Vandy 5a, though Spendor D9 still quite a bit cheaper. I haven’t heard D9 or 5a, fwiw - those were outside my budget. But offered my comments since arguably relevant conce...
Speaker Recommendations - from Vandersteen 5As
Oops, not Model 7. I think it was Model 3. Sorry. I was just going off memory which is hazy and I looked at so many and it was awhile ago. But it was a $5-8k speaker in cost, that much I’m sure of (cause I remember thinking these were the direct c...
Speaker Recommendations - from Vandersteen 5As
So I believe it was probably Model 7?, which may be an older model I’m not too sure. Whatever it was it’s price was in the 5-7k range like the Spendor D7. Dealer said house sound of Vandy pretty consistent thru their lineup, fwiw, you just get mor...
Speaker Recommendations - from Vandersteen 5As
I would recommend listening to Spendor and Dynaudio.Reason I say that is that within last year I auditioned around 20 speakers from a dozen or so manufacturers in the $3-10k price ballpark and ended up choosing and purchasing Spendor D7. Reason wh...
Most impressive small footprint speaker
Spendor A2/A4/A7: each excellent sounding at their price points and as move up thru them just get more of that great and phenomenally acclaimed Spendor sound. Then you get to Spendor D7 which are in altogether different league imo due in part to t...
Opinions of GoldenEar Triton 1
Haven’t listened to the One, but when I was auditioning close to 20 speakers six months ago, I listened to the GE Triton 2+, Focal Aria 936, and Paradigm Prestige (whatever the $3.5-4K model is) in one sitting playing thru Rotel gear. For me the G...
