Tonal Balance of B&W 802 D3/D4 vs the D2 Generation
I have now in my home the 803D2 and the 803D3. The 803D3 is indeed much brighter. But I added a DB1 subwoofer. Not only does the bass get better but the tonal balance totally changes from bright to full and rich sound with details. Without subwoo...
Tonal Balance of B&W 802 D3/D4 vs the D2 Generation
I totally agree your hearings. The newer speakers do sound leaner because they are more precise. I had the 804D3 at home and preferred the D2. The D2 may be less accurate but to me it is more musical. This counts actually for a lot of speaker bran...
Does the WATT/Puppy 8 image as well as the 7?
Well I just bought the Puppy 8 and have also had the Puppy 5,6,7 and I think the 8 beats the 7 in every aspect. The tweeter is also a little bit less "hot" than the 7 so this is an advantage to me. It is close to the Sasha.
Wilson Audio Sasha 2 & Avalon Indra
Well to my opinion the Avalon Indra should be compared to the Wilson Sophia 3 and in that case I still prefer the Sophia 3 for attack, speed and bass. I had both in my house and now play with the Sasha 1. The Avalon is completely overpriced (at le...
Krell 750mcx or EVO 600
Well I actually had them side by side and the new EVO line is opener and brighter. I thought the 750MCX had the best bass of all amps but the EVO goes deeper much much more detail. Overall the EVO 600 was better but not night and day. So I stayed ...
Pass labs and wilson ausio sasha w/p
Well I played with the XA100.5 on the Sasha and it plays wonderfull. It will work fine. However for the Sasha it does need a lot of current and in my setup both the Pass X600.5 and the Krell EVO600 sounded better with the Sasha. But the XA100.5 wo...
Audio Research Ref 5 and Krell amps
I used Krell FPB750MCX and 450MCX with ARC ref3 and also ARC ref5. It is a wonderful combination. The ARC makes the mids very musical and still has enough details. It is also not to bright. The KCT has a little more bottom extention but the ARC pr...
Krell Evolution or Pass XA.5 series
Well in my previous post I had the Wilson Maxx as speakers. I now changed the speakers to Wilson Sasha. I changed the amps to Pass XA160.5. But recently I bought the Krell EVO600 mono blocks and they play much more life like on the Sasha. The bass...
Krell EVO 302 or 302e
Well so many people so many opinions. I have the Pass XP20 and XA160.5 driving my Wilson Sasha. Recently I upgraded to Krell EVO600 mono blocks + Krell EVO222 using cast cable. The Krell sounded better on the Wilson in every aspect, more detail, m...
i Have owed Krell FPB600 for about 7 years est.
Well I had the FPB600 for a long time before I upgraded to the FPB650M. Although technically it are the same power amps the difference was unbeleivable. The 600 sounded broken next to the FPB600. But you should better buy an FPB700CX which plays b...
Wadia S7i direct to amp
Well when I said the preamp adds something I did not mean colouring. Without preamp the Wadia sounds great but with the preamp I can set the Wadia to maximum output and maximum volume on the dipswitches. The music then gets more dynamical and open...
Wadia S7i direct to amp
I have a Wadia S7i at home and play with the Pass XP20 and XA160.5 but I prefer the preamp. Without the preamp I miss some body and dynamics. For me the preamp adds something. But if you want to save money it works finr without a preamp.Peter
Wilson Sasha , Avalon Indra or Magico V3?
One of my friends just bought the Wilson Sasha. He came from an Avalon Eidolon Vision. Even out of the box the Sashas smoked the Avalon in every way except 3D sound. The Avalon has a holgraphic sound that the Sasha also has after being played in. ...
Wilson Sasha's - All evolution in Wilsons are.....
Well I just got a pair of Krell EVO400 mono amps and they work very well together with the Sasha. Now it is a matter of preference which amps are better, the XA100.5 or the EVO400. At this moment I slightly prefer the EVO400 which is a lot better ...
Wilson Sasha's - All evolution in Wilsons are.....
Well about the Pass XA100.5. If I just start them I feel the bass is not controlled. The difference between a cold one and one that is on for an hour is quite big. Of course cold they sound good but they realy sing after an hour. For the preamps I ...
