Who needs a MM cartridge type when we have MC?
Not reading every post in this looooooooooooong thread I find it oddly coincidental that I recently decided synergy between arm and cartridge might just be the holy grail in analogue. With this thought in mind ( partially prompted by the destructio...
which budget FM Tuner
Well, it would help if we had some idea of what you might like. But if into silver faced gear the Kenwood KT-7300 was only second to the 8300 in its day in the Kenwood lineup. But I think your budget rules out the 8300. I know the KT-7500 is a twe...
Need help with wiring second pair of speakers
Yes, Niles makes speaker selectors that also incorporate volume controls to balance the speakers. But as mentioned, they are really intended for whole house setups with ceiling or wall mount speakers where critical listening isn't the goal. I've u...
How many grams weight for mm cartridge?
The Grace f8-L’10 is also rated for .5 - 2.5g, along with other f8 carts. Below is a link to a Japanese sales brochure with the numbers clearly visible. This does not mean it’s the recommended VTF, only it’s possible range. In the owners manual it...
What spinning on your turntable today and how does it sound?
Joe Bonamassa:An Acoustic Evening At The Vienna Opera House This has been in heavy rotation here lately, quickly becoming one of my all time favorites.Eric Clapton:I Still Do 45RPMIf you don't own this album you owe it to yourself to pick up a cop...
Shorten my speaker cables?
In going quasi mono block my speaker wires are now 18", that’s right, inches, and this did make a noticeable difference in mid & high frequency clarity, depth of soundstage, etc. That said, I did go from using a standard two channel setup to v...

Oh, I've been collecting equipment for almost 50yrs, most gone in the great sell off of 2012 when my bride of 32yrs passed, the music had left my life for a time. So I understand what's important in life, I'm very happy with my systems. I've been ...
help me with this.............
Hearing another source that’s still on isn’t that uncommon. On the other issue i agree that it’s most likely a dirty input selector, my suggestion would be until you can have all the controls cleaned and lubed exercise them a bit. By this I mean, ...
Need help with wiring second pair of speakers
The difference in impedance doesn’t matter, what does is your amp 2ohm stable? Being an integrated amp it’s unlikely, so connecting them in parallel would most likely smoke the amp. Connecting them in series your amp will see 10 ohms so no worries...
Is it idiotic to stack components directly on top of one another?
I see no issues from an amplifiers vibration for the player? If anything I would think the other way around as the CD is spinning. That said, I really like using Vibrapods under my equipment, and for this instance I think it would be beneficial fo...
Low level hum only with lp playback
Sounds like you’ve isolated your problem, but my recommendation for the sorbo under mat still stands. I find it dramatically deepens the sound field along with extending it vertically. For instance, now when listening to Moby Dick live on The Song...

Ringing platter possibly?Quite a few yrs ago I purchased a mat from Audioquest made of sorbojel, worked great for just what you're describing, but was toxic to vinyl, ruined many of my records.Fast forward to just two weeks ago. Experiencing exact...
