Benchmark LA4 vs. Anthem STR Preamps
After reading up a bit on both units, I see what you mean...totally different characteristics & features, for two different types of use.   When I see him next, I'll try to find out exactly how he came to choose these two; what was his decisio...
Phono Stage, How much do I need to spend, New or used.
+1, Herron VTPH-2Aif it’s above your $$ limit, look at the Parasound JC3 Jr., it’s little less than half the cost of the Herron.
Looking for a new phono preamp
Ditto on the Herron.   I have both the VTPH-2A and the Parasound JC3+....I prefer the Herron but you won’t go wrong with either.   — Jim
Used phono preamp options - feedback requested
P.S.  I also own the Parasound JC 3 Jr., but I’d rank the Herron 1st and the Parasound close 2nd.    But you’ll only know what’s best for you after listening to both.

+++  Herron VTPH-2.     He’s very responsive and accessible, keep trying.
Why is black so popular for components?
My Herron VTPH-2A phono preamp is silver.   Also comes in titanium gray.
High end stereo preamps? Worth it?
How about the Benchmark (LA4)?   I didn’t see it on anyone’s list above, but I have heard a few good things about it personally. Just asking for opinions, I have no horse in this race.— Jim
Phonostage recommendations under $3K
I own both the Herron VTPH2A and the Parasound JC3 Jr.    Honestly, you’d probably be happy with both but the Herron is one of my favorites.
Can anyone recommend an FM Receiver that would play into a relatively high end system?
One of you mentioned the McIntosh MR87, another of you the MR78....are these 2 different models or did one of you just transpose the digits?    Thanks (too lazy to look it up ;-).—Jim
Your vote for greatest (covers) album
Lol, in the spirit of the A-goner who thought album covers, not song covers, I remember when Roger Waters’ solo album “Pros & Cons of Hitchhiking” was released in 1984, the girl on the cover had a naked behind.    Then, the Moms Against Yucky ...
Cassettes still rock!
Anyone have (or used to have) a Harmon Kardon CD-491 deck?   It was top of their line at the same time as Nak was selling the Dragon...it was <an obviously> less popular alternative, but had really great performance profile once dialed in.  ...

Funny....they deleted my (inane) post, in a series of posts putting them down for deleting posts.  Gotta love the hypocrisy.
