Need super quiet exhaust fan
Nsgarch's solution is clearly a better mousetrap. Outside of that, Wpines is right. Panasonic is the way to go. For a ceiling mounted fan, they are spooky quiet.
USPS Priority Mail
In my experience, USPS Priority Mail has been more reliable and predictable than any of the other "affordable" shipping service, without question.
how many folks have +10kVA trannys before the rig?
Zargon:Yes, that is what I was trying to communicate. I hope that you understand that I meant absolutely no disrespect by quoting what the documentation says. I can think of a thousand reasons why an ISO might very well not be the most desirable c...
how many folks have +10kVA trannys before the rig?
Zargon:A very nice installation. I tip my hat to you.Rhyno:The 'archtecture' page on Zargon's system displays very clearly the guidelines that are spelled out in the Topaz (Square-D) documentation. The only variation that I can see is that Topaz s...
Need help with choosing a transport.
In my experience, I would strongly recommend the CEC TL2, if you want to see what transports are all about. The TL2 is, unfortunately, a bit above your budget figure. In your price range, there is currently listed a Parasound C/BD-2000 transport t...
Ceiling Exhaust Fan -How loud is .5 sones?
Nasaman:I will offer my thoughts from a different perspective. I have had very extensive experience with Panasonic fans. We currently have five of them in our home. Bottom line, they are 'spooky quiet'. The largest unit that we have, the FV20VQ3, ...
why so many benchmark dac1's on audiogon?
Right On!, Elizabeth.
Predicting the AGon economy?
I agree with the points made by Tvad and Viridian. From my point of observation pricing is all over the ballpark. It seems to me that the number of "listings" has been pretty consistent to perhaps even growing (AG should be happy), but it appears ...
Organizer software for vinyl lp collection
I use Readerware and find it terrific. The database can be easily separated in to media types, Vinyl, R2R, CD, etc. There are several sites that can be used for loading data with just a mouse click or two. I use Amazon. Once loaded, it can automat...
Dedicated line problem
Glory:Understood that the system is in the living room. Understood that the ceiling fan is in the bedroom. What Apachefl is asking is 'are you sure that the circuit that powers the ceiling fan is NOT taken from (taped from) the living room circuit...
Best S Video Cable
Glory:Hevac1 is quite correct. Component (rbg) is the way to go, assuming that your source is component. If using Laser Disc as a source, S-Video will likely be superior. The Tributaries Silver Series, both S-Video and Component are Excellent cables.
Shorting plugs....
Chad: My gear is all un-balanced so I cannot address your XLR question. However, below is a quote from member Nsgarch, which may still be buried somewhere in the archives:"It is customary to short any unused RCA inputs on preamps. This prevents po...
Does the Transport make a significant difference?
YMMV and there will be others here who may not agree, but...In my case, I have a quality transport, a CEC TL2. In My Experience, does a transport make a significant difference...Absolutely. It is still one of the most significant upgrades I have m...

Oops...I read your inquiry as Manley 100's. My mistake.
VTL Compact 100 bias instructions
Hi:If you go to http://www.manleylabs.com/techpage/Manuals.htmlI think you will likely find a manual that details the procedure. You might also look at http://forum.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/fr.pl?aamps&1213370405 for my comments about specific iss...
