Does anyone know about the new projector called Ultimea Apollo P40 from Projectorcentral?
I haven't seen this projector, but used one of the budget $200 projectors I bought from Amazon for a number of months.  I eventually upgraded to an Epson PJ, but for the cost, the budget PJ was not bad all things considered.  The colors were a bit...
Full range speakers, 40"-44" max height
Hi piramus, The Meridian DSPs are impressive.  I had the Meridian DSP5500s as my mains for about 10 years- they are awesome speakers.  I also spent some time with the DSP7000s which were definitely a step above the 5500s. Two things about the Me...
Meridian 588 vs Schiit Modius
I had a Meridian 588 for several years- wonderful machine.  If you are looking to move up the Meridian line, maybe you can consider the 808?
Who actually uses digital speakers?
Hi Eric, I have been using Meridian digital actives for many years now and am quite happy.  In fact I probably don't see myself going back to a passive system anytime soon.     I would be happy to connect by PM if you are looking for specific fe...
Down To The Crunch
If it were me, I would go with the D&D, but it is probably hard to go wrong with either.   I went down the path of digital actives a long time ago, and don't see myself going back to a traditional system anytime soon.
Advice needed re: new CD player purchase
That Meridian 508.24 is an amazing player- can you hang onto it, or will you be trading in for the new player?
Meridian M30 Active Speakers
You can try posting on Hitchhikers Guide to Meridian (the Meridian owners forum) and see if you get any help.  It may be possible to repair the speaker.  Will send you a PM.
Meridian Direct DAC - Opinions
Agree about Meridian players, but If you really want to experience top of the line Meridian, see if you can get a dealer to let you try an 818v3.  I've gone from Meridian 500 to 588 and as good as those both were, neither come close to the magic t...
Very new to high end audio - Recomendations
Steve59 is spot on.  You should be able to get a pair of used Meridian DSP5000s within your price range.  They are excellent speakers.
Should we pay more attention to delays in sound?
There is also Enhanced Bass Alignment (EBA) developed by Meridian to address group delay.
Your thoughts on active loudspeakers
You can take a look at some of the legacy Meridian DSPs.  For example, the DSP5000s or even DSP6000s if you want something larger.  Their amps are class A, and both of these models can be bought for a fraction of their original retail price nowadays.
An Objective Review of the Tekton Double Impact Speakers
Looks like you decided to try and sell these after all.  What speakers did you go with instead?
Will the placement of casters on speaker stands degrade the performance
Castors provide the ability to move heavy speakers easily.  I've used both spikes and castors- hard to notice any difference in sound quality.
Active Speaker Choice
For the OP, I suspect that those Meridian DSP5200SEs you demo'd were not set-up properly.  Not questioning what you heard, but when properly set-up and configured, the Meridians are really impressive.
MERIDIAN DSP8000 What should I do?
Amazing speakers- congratulations on your find!  As Steve said, you may decide to keep them.  From your question, it appears you have the older style 8000s, ones with the din and coaxial connections on the back.  You can source replacement cables ...
