Big Mcintosh MC1000 pwr amp s?
McIntosh is wonderful amp choice. I have the MC-602 and love it. This is a very detailed amp. With a rich and warm sound. Some say it's a solid state that sounds tubish. I sold a Krell KSA-300 because I needed/wanted more power. At low volume leve...
Please help with interconnects
I like the Transparent Cables. I have owned many different types of cables. I have Super bi cables and Reference IC, Reference Digital. Very happy. Yes over priced, butt huge upgrade in detail of music.
Wilson Sophia 2 vs B&W 802d
The Wilson Sophia is a wonderful speaker. And I agree with you sounds better than the 802. Both speakers take a big hit on resale. That would not be my main concern, it's the pleasure between the purchase and the sale that matters. Just a thought,...
B&W Nautilus 800.....where's the bass?
Thumbs up. I'm happy for you. Be careful with the tubes on on your speakers. They will reveal the hiss of tubes if you use them on preamp. This drove me nuts with my Conrad Johnson PV 9. Think about bi amping. You will open up the next door on you...
Mesa Boogie Tube amps interested in your thoughts
You guys are right! The name is Mesa Barron. Thanks for the feedback. I have no doubt about the heat output. Lots of tubes. More that most as I remember. Thanks again
McIntosh - is it that great?
I have been a consumer of audio gear for 30 years now. I have owned McIntosh, Krell, Conrad Johnson, Marantz, Perraux, Revox, and top end Sony, Yamaha, Teac 3340, Nak Dragon. Tubes & SS epuipment. I liked/loved/hated all at one point.McIntosh ...
B&W or JM labs
This is why I own the 805s and 805n I swear they image amongst the best out there. I do like the JM Labs Mini Utopia. I belive this is one of JM's better speakers. B&W-$2500, JM-$8000 Big difference in price.
Is it worth changing from B&W N805 to the 805S?
Hi, I have both 805n used in stereo. then changed to 5.1 and bought 805s with htm 4 for center and the asw 825 to complete speakers. I really would be pressed to say there is much difference in the 2 models, except for the highs, just a bit bright...
B&W or JM labs
One thing people are oveer looking on the B&W 800 is there need to be at least biamped! Maybe the McIntosh Mc 1201 at 1200 watts mono okay, your gona need some real power to run these speakers. Or you have wasted your money. Yes you can get by...
McIntosh 2200 phono section?
Great advice Jgiacalo. McIntosh is amoung the best. You might want to play with different needles, very time consuming, but the kind of fun I enjoy.
Best amp s for Quad 988 please?
McIntosh solid stateMcIntosh or VTL tubes
B&W 805 models...
I have these speakers pair of 805N, and a pair of 805S I bought the new. Started out with 805N as a stereo set up then upgraded room 5.1 So bought the 805S and HTM4 for center. These are outstanding speakers. But lack low bass. I would not recomme...
B&W Nautilus 800.....where's the bass?
To those of you who have been following me I have said all along that speakers are the most important part of any system. When you get to speakers this high up in the food chain. You can tell the difference in amps, wires, etc. We need understand ...
