Do any still use an older high end tuner from the past?....
Don't know if considered high end, but my Pioneer TX-9100 is a cherished, if seldom used, tuner.
Happy Scale
Relevant question to me. In fact, I'm putting together a vintage system for my basement, in part to try and recapture the sound I enjoyed at the beginning of my stereo journey. I'm under no illusion about experiencing again the same enjoyment thou...
what's your opinion on the magazine 'stereo review'??
I enjoyed "Stereo Review" back in the 70s, and it certainly piqued my interest in newer/better equipment as well as gave reviewers' perspective on artists or albums of interest. I always took reviewers' opinions as just that, and make my own buyin...
Cassettes still rock!
Hear! Hear! Listened to The Cowboy Junkies and Dwight Yoakam on cassette in the past couple of days. Hadn't listened to cassettes in years, since our Marantz portable broke. Just picked up a Sony TC-K81 and can listen to cassettes again.
Polling Integrated Amp & Vinyl Users
I connect to the phono jacks on my Rotel RC-990BX preamp, which is switch-selectable  for MM or MC cartridge. I just bought a Marantz Model 1060 integrated amp for an all-vintage basement system, and I'll connect to the phono jacks there as well.
Love Songs

What is it.........
I've had the same experience. Early in my hi fi journey, I bought records with songs I'd heard on the car AM radio, and was disappointed in the LP stereo version. The sound quality there was fine, but there just wasn't the same impact. For example...

"Reminds me, I do love to cook"Me too. I have an old, beat-up Napoleon grill that still cooks, and I especially like to put a roast on it. Prime rib, pork loin, anything that benefits from a mix of direct and indirect cooking is fun for me. Steak...
Albums that you listen to straight through / start to finish whenever you put them on!
This thread is very apropos to me. For 40 years my listening sessions were restricted, and so I got in the habit of only listening to favorite tracks. I became passably good at positioning the tonearm such that the stylus lowers into the inter-tra...
Best rock song of all times
Many, many worthy candidates above.Old Rock 'n' Roll: "Johnny B. Goode."Later: "Rock & Roll" by Led Zeppelin. That one never fails to get my blood goin'.
What other Hobbies or Interests Do You Have?
Fly fishing and rodbuilding. I've only recently been bit (again) by the stereo bug, during a period when I couldn't build rods. That spurred me to get some of my old audio gear serviced, and to start putting together a second system for the baseme...
What have you liked in a Audiophile FM table radio?
I have had a Tivoli Audio/Henry Kloss Model One for a long time. When I was working away from home and it was my only source for music, I very much appreciated its sound -- much fuller and better fidelity than those of a typical radio.
Stereo Receivers from the past...
I've had two, both Marantz. Model 25 was my first, and I remember it fondly for its warm, rich, and clear sound. It was stolen, and I replaced it with a #2230. It was good too, though I liked it a little less than the 25. The 2230 is certainly mor...
