Thank you all for the good advice. I found all the responses very helpful and informative. I wish you all a prosperous and happy new year. Thanks again.
EMM Labs DAC6
Tbg you are quite clever, but you failed to even remotely answer my question. As for being content with what we own, until something obviously better comes along, is this not subjective? Am I missing something? I do not consider myself, or the peo...
EMM Labs DAC6
I know the DAC 6 sounds great, I have heard it. Unfortnately, everything else in the system was very high end and I was not able to isolate any control factors. Too many high end variables. I sincerely wish to know if anyone whose heard the DAC 6 ...
Opinions about Kharma Speakers
Thank you for the input. My previous speakers were W/P 5.1 and 6.0s. With the favorable press of the W/P 7.0s, it was tempting to go with the safe bet. I knew if the Kharmas had at least a small portion of the sound signature of the Exquisites, th...
Speaker Impedance, Tenor OTLs, and Watt Puppies
Thank you Mike. You used a good analogy to clearly explain three concepts: the difference between high and low impedance; impedance stability and output; and amplifier matching with the correct impedance. The problem is should you match your speak...
Jenna Labs Valkyre Vs. Nordost Reference
I currently own Tenor Audio Amps, and am considering either Watt Puppy Sevens, or Khorus Xs speakers, when I decide to purchase.
Electrostatic Speakers
I must say, these are two of the most informative and knowledgeable responses I have ever received from this page. You guys seem to really know what you are talking about. Thanks! Incidently, if I purchased the soundlabs, I would be running them w...
AR Ref 600s Best for Genesis2?
There few negative things to say about the 600s. I A/B the 600s Mark I to the BATs in the same room, on the same equipment, and the 600s blew away the BAT gear. It was not even close. In the 14K to 18K price range, the BATs are one amp to consider...
AR Ref 600s Best for Genesis2?
I agree with the last response. Its difficult to find fault with the 600s. Certaintly, major crtitisms are unfair and inaccurate. No amplifier handles transients on orchestral passages as the 600s. There is no mid-bass bloat, unless one is mistaki...
LAMM ML2 with Wilson Watt Puppy 6.0
Watt puppies need power. I do not see how a 18 Watt Amp could drive anything beyond the most efficient of speakers. If you like dynamics do not consider LAMM ML2s. Perhaps good tonality but with limited control.
Amplifier with Watt/Puppies 6s
Thank you for the input. I have been told the 33Hs have better base control, if not extension, than the Pass Lab equipment. Perhaps the 33Hs also have more grace and refinement. Base control and transparency are more important to me than a robust ...
Pass Labs X Series
Thanks for the input, its greatly appreciated. Someone told me Pass Labs was more neutral by far than the Levinson equipment. This surprised me.
Help ! Levinson No333 or No.33H
I am also interested in the answer to this question. Unfortunately, no one is willing to answer it online.
Line Processors
Thank you for the advice. As much as I know now, the three units I've mentioned are all balanced power. Only the Power Plant produces the perfect sinewave. Would the sinewave make that much of a difference in sound quality? Currently, I own the Eq...
24/96 Format
Carl, perhaps you would benefit from re-reading my initial response. Nothing I wrote implied any disrespect for "great conducters of that bygone era." As a matter of fact, I probably own some of these recordings. The only point I was trying to mak...
