anyone using piega speakers?
I'll agree that Piegas are very expensive compared to other loudspeakers. But name one thing coming from Switzerland that is NOT more expensive than the same product coming from anywhere else. There is a reason for the expense. They are very labor...
McIntosh C1000 tube pre vs. ARC Ref 3?
And another thing. . . McIntosh doesn't ADVERTISE with the magazine in question. Not that it has any bearing on the topic at hand, but I thought I'd point that out based on your insinuation that they are buying these awards.
McIntosh C1000 tube pre vs. ARC Ref 3?
Jim:One product gets Product of the Year, and then the same reviewers declare the other "the best preamplifier ever" FROM ARC. It's sort of like you dated around before you got married, and your wife is the one you married, but that one girl was "...
McIntosh C1000 tube pre vs. ARC Ref 3?
>>Hantrax your logic is nonsense. To post a strong opinion about something you never heard is absurd.I posted no strong opinion on anything I haven't heard. You probably need to go back and read the thread.
McIntosh C1000 tube pre vs. ARC Ref 3?
>>I'm just trying to let the original poster know that a lot of hot air blows around these threads when it comes to opinions!<<Which is precisely why I disclosed the fact that I had not heard the ARC Ref 3. We're on the same page here....
Mcintosh integrated
Had the 6300 here for a week. It was startlingly close to my 501/2200 combo.
McIntosh C1000 tube pre vs. ARC Ref 3?
Based on all the reviews out there, which the OP mentions, my statement was accurate. At least I admitted not hearing the Ref 3. That's probably more than most of you would have done. You can surmise that the 1000 is ahead by a country mile just f...
McIntosh C1000 tube pre vs. ARC Ref 3?
I wouldn't say all that. The verdict on the ARC 3 is that it is "Audio Research's best preamplifier ever". The C1000 got Stereophile's Product of the Year. I wouldn't even mention the two pieces in the same breath. The McIntosh is the clear winner...
Hail to Mcintosh
Add another 501 zealot to the list.Since I got mine, I haven't looked back at the HUNDREDS of pieces of gear I've owned in the past few years.I have to say that McIntosh has all the resolution your system has. As the gear around them gets better, ...
Corner treatment -- PZCs a sure thing?
The Eighth Nerve Adapt product is considerably better than the PZC. PZC's might work for you if you have a very large room, but I found them to be incredibly absorbent and they shut the sound down in an average sized room.
What's happening with Piega?
I cannot imagine that one couldn't get a tweeter from Piega. The company, even the executives, have always been amazingly responsive when I've e-mailed them for any reason. If the alleged owner registered his speakers with Piega, I'd find it hard ...
B&W N800 vs Piega C10 Limited
Anyone who would say that the 800N is better than the C10 Limited did not spend the time to properly setup the C10 Limited.
What's happening with Piega?
It's a mystery really. No one at Piega wants to give any answers, but I would not assume you are without warranty. The guys at Piega are the real deal, and I don't see them hanging anyone out to dry. As far as the COST of warranty service, it may ...
Piega C-3 or Fried Monitor 7?
Piega C3 is one of the best speakers in the world at that price range. I have C3 Limiteds, and I have heard nothing that can rival even the least expensive Piega at its pricepoint. They are absolutely in a different realm than Frieds. . .
Best tube preamp, cost not object ?
"The Modwright SWL9.0SE is scarily close to the First Sound Presence Deluxe II in resolution, detail, and linearity."Well that's disappointing. I was sort of entertaining the First Sound products after reading about them on this thread, but I was ...
