Marantz PM-11 S3 - thoughts?
Sabai,Thanks for the note. I, unfortunately need some high power amps as my speakers are acoustically suspended and only 86db in efficiency.Tuan
Marantz PM-11 S3 - thoughts?
I have lived with the PM11S3 for almost two years now and i love it! I had in my previous systems the Pass Labs X250 amp and X1 preamp combo, tried the Modwright KI200, had others tube amps and Audio Research, etc. The PM11S3 fits my needs the bes...
Benz Micro Ruby Z
Thanks Audioquest4life!I too am loving my Ruby Z. I had thoughts of the SLR Gullwing but stuck with the Ruby Z...the wood body alone is beautiful!I'll let you know my impressions as I get more listening of it, but I found the rustling noise to be ...
Benz Micro Ruby Z
Hi I just got the Z and while I only have 3 hours on it, it seems to make lots of noise for loading above 500 - 47K ohms. On my Pass XONO (DIY) all loadings from 10 - 470 are fine, I think it actually sounds great at 470, but I wanted to try 870, ...

Marantz SA8260 Filter Switch on Rear Panel
Good questions...I have some Odyssey Extreme Mono amps and supposedly they handle from 1-100,000khz, so, I should perhaps put it to custom too, right?I don't know, its confusing what they (Marantz) mean by next generation Amps...Any one help?

VPI Scout w/ JMW-9 vs Aries w/ JMW-10
Thanks for the overwhelming response...You're all right, price point upgrade is key...I got the scout used and wouldn't lose too much upon selling and upgrading...what do you think if the Aries and JMW-10 was $2000? I am sure I can get $1000 or so...
VPI Scout w/ JMW-9 vs Aries w/ JMW-10
Slipknot1...Well, with the Scout, I can't complain about the sonics of it, its as good as I've had it, even with the MC of a Dynavector 10x4, which I should upgrade before upgrading tables. But there is a good deal out there on the Aries and the J...
VPI Scout Belt Noise
Hey there Dodgeelum...I have the scout and it too sometimes screech. The trick is to get the belt from the bottom of the spindle on the motor, don't let it touch the lower (45rpm) spindle, that will solve your problem. If this still exists, then y...
What Drives Meadowlark Audio Herons
I am sure they are, I just don't want to take the drivers out...remember, the drivers are fine. I just want to get a pair so that when the do die...I'd have something to replace them with.
Speaker Choices for Tube Amps
Hey Bidkidz...I would say, Meadowlarks...they are made for tubes...I have a pair of Shearwaters...they are magnificent...You've got to try them out, great imaging, soundstaging and full frequency speakers...The newer versions are out and depending...
Meadowlar Osprey...How does it sound???
Well said Sedona....Well, I've heard plenty of speakers, from Exemplars to Thiels, to Von Schweikert VR4s, to Dun Leavy, to Innersound, Proacs, to Silverline Audios, to Vandersteens, to B&Ws, to Alons and many more...Each time I hear them they...
Meadowlar Osprey...How does it sound???
Do you mean the Blue Herons? the first version?I have the Shearwaters and it has the paper scanspeak...I don't experience the "curtain" feeling, just that they are a laid back sound, that's for sure! So, what do you own Jsujo?
