Is it senility, or were the DQ-10 Dahlquist that specail....?
I had a pair back in the 80s and I really liked them. They were a little on the large side sitting on the stands but they always sounded good to me.
~$6K mini-monitor recommendations?
If you can find a pre-owned pair of Wilson Audio TuneTot they sound really good.
Guest suddenly takes it upon herself to move my speakers
People make mistakes..Let it go...
Which amp would you go with
I had the Musical Fidelity M3 which is basically theM2si and it's a fine amp. The build quality on it is excellent and it's more powerful than the numberswould suggest.
Hypocrisy within the speaker industry
"If i put a $5 woofer in a fancy box and stuck a price tag of $5000 somebody would buy it. Somebody would justify it."Sounds like a winning business model you should try it!
What is the most FUN pair of speakers you've ever had and why?
Dahlquist DQ10 - They were big bold and a lot of fun.
Need suggestions for a $1500 used system for my daughter.......
Right now Cambridge Audio is closing out the CXA80 integratedon Ebay for $400, you can add the BT100 adapter from Cambridgefor another $75 and have bluetooth streaming, that still leaves you a grand for speakers.Adorama has the Polk Lsim705 tower ...
Recommendations for high quality Streaming Audio:
The Cambridge CXN is worth checking out.
Where would be a good place to buy& sell used audio equipment?
Ebay is a good option.
Is the buyer responsible to cover the cost of a return?
They take a good beating in shipping.
sellers trying to sell used product for 10-20% off of list price
It depends on what the item is...The KEF LS50 sell all day long at nearly full price. If you have something nobody wants then it will be sold at a large discount or no one will buy it. If you want cheap pick something no one wants.
Why bookshelf type speakers are not high end
The solution for you is simple...Don't buy them...
A moderate priced dac
I bought a fairly expensive Dac $3k and then I bought a Dac for a couple hundred dollars and compared the two. I sold the higher dollar Dac and kept the other as the difference was minimal at best.On some songs, I couldn’t even tell the difference...
Buy a pair of ten year old $40,000 speakers for $4,000 or new ones at that price point?
You aren't going to find a pair of decent $40k speakers for $4k anytime soon...
Black Ash.....
I don’t harbor any ill feelings toward black ash speakers...Walnut or oak now that is a different story.
