Easy to drive large speakers for Rock & Roll?
Paul I don't believe I have mentioned it before but regardless I do find the speakers very impressive, I do enjoy them but maybe they are a little too forward for my tastes. Regardless, I am not sure there is a suitable replacement that will be as...
Easy to drive large speakers for Rock & Roll?
I used to have a set of Tyler Ref 1's with matching sub, sounded awesome but never had the impact I was looking for. If I had the money I would move up the line but I need to stay under $2,000. I think for me what I have found is larger drivers te...
Cary SLI 80 with B&W 703 will it be a good match?
There is nothing really but before I purchased the Cary I ran an older Mac 2505 & was blown away by the sound so I am switching back. I am a fan of the Cary but it is not the Mac sound I am lusting after now. I think there is great synergy bet...
Cary SLI 80 with B&W 703 will it be a good match?
I have a Cary SLI 80 with a pair of B&W CDM-1SE's. They sound very good together, the Cary in fact is an upgrade from my McIntosh MA6450. I am not completely in love with the Cary & in fact may switch back to a different Mac but they certa...
Horn Speakers
I would be interested in some horns too but the ones I have heard (low end Klipsch) were horrible. I always see the older Klipsch recommended for rock but isn't there something with a little better WAF that sounds as good for rock music that would...
efficiant speaker with good bass?
Mrjstark, I have been back home to NY the past three weekends in a row, I am in NH.
efficiant speaker with good bass?
I would like to try a pair but I haven't seen a pair used for $1500.00 either. I am sure I will find something, I am still looking at the options.
efficiant speaker with good bass?
The Revel suggestion is an interesting one, looks like they might fit the bill. I have never heard a pair of Revel's, how would you describe their "house" sound?
efficiant speaker with good bass?
The horns I have heard & some of the Klipsch I have heard tend to be a bit too strident for me.
efficiant speaker with good bass?
Also, I forgot to mention that I really enjoy my B&W's & would love to stay within the line but don't feel they are efficient enough for what I am trying to accomplish. At this time I don't feel like going for a monster SS amp, I am missin...

I loved the VR-4jr's the most but sold them to "downsize", I also really enjoy the B&W's but I am looking for a change. I am looking for a larger speaker with greater impact, something I miss from the jr's.
MC Cart for Thorens 125 with Linn Basik Arm
I decided on the Denon 301MKII, I know some folks prefer the 103 over the 301 but I know the 301 will work with my arm on paper at least.
MC Cart for Thorens 125 with Linn Basik Arm
Tvad, that is where I noticed that the 160 would not work. I see on paper it won't work but no idea if it will or won't in actuality. I am thinking I should just get the 301 instead of the 160 since it is listed as a cart that will work with the B...
MC Cart for Thorens 125 with Linn Basik Arm
Jaybo, no concerns with the low compliance of the Denon's? The Linn arm is medium mass at 11.5g. Would a little headshell weight help?
acoustic zen bi,s or shotgun?
I have a pair of AZ Satori Shotguns (currently for sale) They are the best cables I have ever had in my system, completely nuetral. I had them with a pair of Tyler References, VSA VR4jr's & B&W CDM1 SE's. I replaced a pair of MIT shotguns ...
