Jays Audio cdt2 mk3 burn in and user experiences
With the Oppo I’m using HDMI, with the Jay’s AES/EBU. In addition, the Jay’s goes directly to my Berkeley whereas the Oppo goes through a GeerFab HDMI converter. Given there are differences, CD’s sound better through the Jay’s. I bought the Jay’s ...
SVS vs REL and experiences with both: your comments and preferences...
maxboy00, I take delivery of a pair of S510's tomorrow. I've been researching placement for the best two channel audio. Where mine are likely to go is similar to your placement. But, I've read conflicting suggestions on whether the REL's should g...
Jays Audio cdt2 mk3 burn in and user experiences
bill-k, I got my CDT2 Mk3 from Tek Audio, thank you for the heads up. So far I'm thrilled with what I'm hearing. I've only burned it in for 48 hours and it already sounds great. One odd thing. My DAC is a Berkeley Alpha 3 which is HDCD capable....
New Jays Audio flagship cd transport
Todd was very helpful in arranging my purchase of a CDT2 MK 3. It has already been shipped and I should have it in my hands about ten days after I placed the order. Not bad coming from China.  I'm pairing it with a Berkeley Alpha DAC 3 using AES/...

I want to buy a Jay's CD transport but have been leery of importing one as I can't figure out how much the duty/tariff is. But, I just learned they have a US connection, TEK Specialists in Buda, TX.  Does anyone know how to contact them?
New Jays Audio flagship cd transport
I've been thinking of buying a Jay's transport but have been unable to figure out how much the duty/tariff is. How do I get in contact with Todd King?
Berkeley Audio Design Alpha DAC Series 3
I'm using mine with an Oppo 103D feeding the new Vanity Pro. The Alpha DAC 3 is my first DAC, I've been using a Marantz SA10.  I have a fairly high end two channel system and I've always preferred analog. My dealer, Galen Carol Audio, thought the...
ARC Reference 10 melting polycarbonate cover
I use the Enermax 120 mm fan. It is very quiet and still puts out a strong blow. It is AC powered. The only drawback is I don't have anything to plug it into with a switch so it runs all the time. Still, it is so cheap if it wears out I'll just bu...
$510.00 for an Aluminum cover for the ARC Ref. 10?
$510 is absurd, but I'm curious about something. Is an aluminum cover for the Ref 5SE or Ref 2SE Phono also $510? They are the same size as the Ref 10.
ARC Reference 10 melting polycarbonate cover
I had the problem with my Ref2 SE phono stage. I thought I was going to have to buy a new rack as the one I have only has about 3" of space above the ARC and the next shelf. The poly cover was starting to bow above the 6550. A cooling fan solved t...
RIAA vs Columbia vs Decca
I just purchased the ARC phono stage as well. While I realize RIAA is technically correct, I've found the Columbia eq takes the edge off the bright strings on early stereo Columbia Masterworks recordings. I'm dumbfounded, but it really makes Walte...
Good sounding Deutsche Grammophon recordings
DG vinyl, in general, lags behind Decca and other labels. I'm referring to pre-digital recordings, sound quality only. The early stereo recordings, like Karajan's 1962 Beethoven Cycle, have compressed dynamics. I don't know why, perhaps to make th...
Wilson Alexia 20x15 Room
I took a look at your room. While it may create other problems, putting your speakers on the long wall will give you a bigger soundstage. You're lucky in that the Vandy's bass can be adjusted to make a long wall placement work.
Wilson Alexia 20x15 Room
While your room isn't small, my Revel Studio 2's sound much larger in my 17x21x10 room than they did in my old one which was 14x18x9. If the Vandy has a restriction in height I can see the vertical stage getting bigger, but I'm not really sure a s...
JC3+ Anyone?
I had a high output Ruby, .7 output, and with the JC3. I had an overload problem. While I could use the MM input, I had to run the Ruby unloaded. The JC3 worked fine with a regular Ruby 3, .35 output. I believe the sensitivity of the line stage is...
