Turntable and amp combination
I don't pretend to be an expert but I'd recommend going with a tube based phono preamp.  I originally purchased a Lehmann SE Black solid state phono peamp but after several years I elected to upgrade my TT to a Clearaudio Concept and Satisfy Carbo...

Vinyl woes / cartridge upgrade
I was skeptical about the Sweet Vinyl Sugercube SC-1 but since I could buy it from an online dealer with a good return policy I decided to give it a try.  I'll be damned but the thing does work as advertised.  It gets rid of static based clicks an...

Has anyone finally decided to sell their Turntable and Vinyl collection?
I mothballed my TT and donated over 2/3rds of my vinyl collection, around 1000 12 inch albums, to a charity called "Albums for Alzheimers" back in 2001.  I have never regretted donating the vinyl to a good cause...but after getting back into vinyl...

R.I.P. Roky Erickson.
I don't know about that, what got Roky institutionalized were archaic and abusive drug laws which equated simple pot possession TO A LIFE SENTENCE in a Texas hell-hole prison. The choice was prison or a mental institution. To hell with Texas.
What a sad world we now live in.......
