Anyone ever hear Meyer Sound X-10 speakers?
Belated response: You can't use the X-10s with a low watt SET system, or any other outboard amplification: they're active speakers with onboard amplification, built-in EMI/RFI filtering, and DSP crossover, not to mention the patented PSAC circuitr...
Accuphase F-25 Active Crossover, any experience?
The F-25 is the highest fidelity crossover I've tried, audibly superior to Bryston 10B as well as to the various Rane, Ashly, JBL and other pro audio crossovers. The downside is the high cost of frequency modules. My current active set-up requires ...
Any experience with TAD speakers ?
TAD doesn't license technology from any other manufacturer. However, TAD designs may be described as a more refined JBL. In the late 1970s, when Pioneer created the Technical Audio Devices Division, they hired an ex-JBL transducer engineer, Bart L...
Esoteric K-01/K-03 Owners
Anybody with a K-03x having disc reading problems? I bought mine used a few months ago—seller said he was moving up to the K-02—but a few weeks ago the unit stopped recognizing most discs. At first repositioning the disc in the tray worked, but no...
Audio Sensibility vs. Signal Cable speaker cable
I use Audio Sensibility Impact and Testament interconnects, analogue and digital, as well some power cords Steve Huang, the owner, has made up for me using Neotech and Furutech wire. Not inclined to experiment with cables any more. Associated equi...
New Esoteric P02 D02
Apologies for coming in late and changing the topic...but there's a lot of knowledge about Esoteric products in this thread, so I figure this is a good place to ask—Does any one have experience of two different configurations of the D-03?After bu...
Preamp: adjustable impedance + GAIN
I am not aware of any preamplifier with adjustable input and output impedance. Not saying no such device exists, just that I've never heard of one. Other than that, the new Esoteric preamps (C-03x and C-02) may satisfy your other requirements (the...
Anyone ever hear Meyer Sound X-10 speakers?
Yeah, I've got a pair. Don't plan on replacing them.

McIntosh MC402
I am also considering purchasing a (used) MC402 to use with a pair of Tannoy System 215 DMT II. Currently using a McCormack DNA-500. I am concerned, though, that the MC402 doesn't increase its power output into lower impedance loads.
Wish List For Vinyl Pressings
Emmylou Harris's "Wrecking Ball." After all these years, my CD version gets a lot of play; would love to get the LP, which was issued along with the CD, but the small number that were are now horrendously expensive (circa $300).
Esoteric P-05 - D-05 - anbody use the word sync ??
Any 75 ohm pro audio BNC-BNC shielded video cable will work perfectly: Belden, Mogami, Canare, etc.The pros don't care much about six-nines copper and that sort of thing, but are very, very strict about getting impedances right.
Grace F-9 broken stylus
I concur 100% with Tommyboy65.I have three F9s, all with Soundsmith stylus assemblies. These are not cheap ($200 to $500), but worth it.The F9 with $300 Soundsmith stylus assembly chased a $600+ Ortofon 2M Black right out of my system. Several fri...
pre-amp vs dac straight to amps
mlapenta,I had to smile when I saw your post.My experience is exactly the opposite of yours: DAC direct to amps is more "transparent," has better detail, and smoothness—but, for me, it's through the preamp that has lots of bass punch and impact! (...
pre-amp vs dac straight to amps
No experience—yet—in computer-based audio, but I prefer using a preamp.First reason is a practical one: I have four source components, one each for CD, SACD, LP, and FM, so I need quick 'n' easy switching from one to the other.Second reason is tha...
