Best High Efficiency Speakers for full bass tone
Hartley 24" in Jensen imperial cabinet should do it! Actually, a 15" in the imperial would likely crack your foundation. Check the decware site.Working on the same issue myself and I wish I had the space for these.Best,Doug
Best beer
Nitro milk stout. Good stuff!
Audio Note Interstage Kit - Who's heard this?
Well, yes in fact I do. The output tx are the AN UK lowest level HiB double C core and the interestage tx are also AN UK but I have the UHiB for those. All copper, but boy do I wish I could afford the silver! And that's not to mention caps...
Audio Note Interstage Kit - Who's heard this?
I am a member of the "highly enthusiastic" AN kit forum, but despite my bias I will aim to answer your question as honestly as I can! For five years I have lived with and listened to the interstage monos and also my Kit1, a 300b stereo amp from Au...
Altec Model 19 - which caps for crossovers
Not to hijack here, but along the same lines I am mulling the conundrum Johnk presents. My recently acquired Flamencos are in rough physical shape and I am thinking of refinishing the cabinets and making some mods (mostly aesthetic) along the way....
Dan D'Agostino is back with a new line
I'm fairly certain that Fisker is the car company Gore is behind. The Karma is a good-looking car.
California Audio Show-why I hate audio conventions
I hope readers look past the title of this post so they can see the positive views many of us have about this show. Perfect? Nope. But from talking with Constantine I can tell he wants this show to exist for all of us.This is evident in that many ...
California Audio Show- a great time
And the MBLs sounded better than any of the few previous times I've heard them. Beautiful and airy stage with tremendous detail and ambience. Plus, they are something in white with their matching white electronics. Oh, and they also didn't crank t...
California Audio Show- a great time
Yes, I completely agree. It has the vibe of the shows that are intended for the public, a kind of neat sense of discovery coupled with recognizable brands and names. Several were new to me and sounded great like Vaughn speakers and AudioSpace amps...
Bands that had a "masterpiece", w/ common theme
XTC Skylkarking, and The Decemberists The Hazards of Love and to a slightly leesser extent, The Crane Wife. Crane Wife is a superb album with good sonics on most tracks but let down by compression and other nasties at times. Still, a great album!
Sinatra suggestions
Sinatra's Swingin' Session is a favorite and should be just what you are looking for. My parents probably listened to it when it was new, and today I dig it, too!
Any High-end speakers "kid-friendly" not fragile?
Jeff, count me in on the pro-Martin Logan side. I got a pair specifically as a kid-friendly choice when my first child was just starting to crawl. ML are very sturdy and the panel itself is hard to destroy. I've heard that the panel will still pla...
Small Single Driver Speakers - Help
I go along with Dark in that I haven't heard the 47 lab lens, but I do own Omega XRS3 hemp. Now, I believe, they are called the XRS5. They are a nice match with SET and lower power ss amps. Plus, they have a fantastic finish that Louis will custom...
Roseville California
Jerry, I still get weird looks... As I mentioned above, we have a small group that gets together sporadically to talk audio, listen, have a drink and share our hobby. Drop me a line if you'd like to join us sometime.Mike, the offer still stands--o...
DIY Flexi First attempt.
Brian,I built a double-Flexi several years ago and have used it since (check my system for pics). Drill the holes 1.5" from corner to center which is 1" from side to center. This leaves enough material around the connection point to be strong. Thi...
