Dynavector XV1s loading & phono
Hi David, I am surprised at the difficulty you are having with the XV1s. I have had many carts in my system and the XV is clearly one of the best I have used. Loading should be around the 100 to 150 ohm area. Of course VTF, VTA etc. all need fine ...
What Makes a Good RIAA or Line Stage?
Raul, this is a different thread. I have just read your same post in your Essential thread. Why do we need two Essential threads. Please give us a break. Thom attempted to start a new thread exploring some very interesting ideas regarding phono st...
Acapella vs. Avantgarde
No Amfibius, You are certainly not more insane than any of the rest of us in this hobby. In fact I think you are on the right road with your speaker choices. Markxiii said it all. The plasma drive on the Acepella's is incredible.Amps I have used w...
Acapella vs. Avantgarde
I own a set of Acapella High Campaniles and can tell you that that I have never felt as if the sound was in any way disjointed. I have owned several speakers which did have problems melding different technologies but not Acapella.OTOH they require...

DPS/Schroeder Ref. Turntable
Re: tables I agree with Flyingred. The Galibier is an excellent table. Re: arms I am one of those lucky few Thom referred to in his post. I run the Tri-planar and a Schroeder Reference SQ. Thom's remarks on choosing an arm that you most identify w...
Einstein "The Turntable's Choice " phonostage
Yes, the Einstein phono stage does seem to be difficult to obtain. I have had the balanced version on order for awhile and no idea yet as to when I will receive it.I do believe it will be worth the wait however.
Einstein OTL amps experience
It is possible I am mistaken here but to be exact my Atma-sphere amps are Ma1 Mk 2 Silver edition upgraded at the factory with power supply boost and Caddack resistor package. I thought the upgrade brought the amps to mk 3 status as well except fo...
Einstein OTL amps experience
I forgot to mention that the amp portion of this shoot-out will also include a set of EAR 519 push pull 100W tube amps and a set of Bryston 7BST high power ss amps. I will include these in the game for overall evaluation of power requirements etc....

Turntables from 1-10: Personality 8.5 Beauty 12
