B/W 702 s3
I’ve had 804s for many years, only because I never felt the urge to look further. I added a nice sub, and that helped a lot. Recently I realized that I could bl-amp using a nice Tigris integrated I’ve had lying around forever, so for laughs I hook...
Upgrade to B&W 804 D4 Speakers
I don’t know about the D4 variant, my 804s are 20 y/o. I agree with the fact that they are power hungry. Recently I went bi-amp (all tube) and the result was night and day. They now sound the way I’d always wished they would, and I can now balance...
Why the need for sending a passcode through cell phone.
Just wait. You haven’t seen anything yet! The hoops I just jumped through to reply here were slightly tedious though.
Rolling Stones list of top 100 music artist , I ?Question its logic
All true. Yes, Wenner tried to inject a little mainstream publishing vibe into RS from the beginning. They were just kids having some fun, then morphed into serious business as RS "matured." The rise of rival music magazines may have contributed ...
Rolling Stones list of top 100 music artist , I ?Question its logic
@larsman et al, Rolling Stone has been a cultural, political, and news publication since its beginnings in the late 1960s. Their published motto: "All the news that fits" reflected the inclusion of cultural journalism as reflected in the music sce...
Steely Dan albums

Why not more wireless connections?
Analog wireless is fraught with interference problems as far as I know, and WiFi is a digital conversion, so if your system is analog doesn’t WiFi introduce two more DACs into the chain? Maybe I’m mistaken, but if this is true, we all know how muc...
Any modern rock recommendations?
Sure, why not. Been around a while but worth watching a real live rock band. https://youtu.be/Zinw_L-GQN8
Roy Thomas Baker has passed away
A titan in the industry. I had the pleasure/displeasure of attending a mixing session with him. Pleasure, because it was informative, exhilarating, and educational. Displeasure because RTB mixed at a SPL that even seasoned rock musicians found ala...
Vinyl sounds better (shots fired)
@atmasphere Thank you for clarifying this for me, and possibly others who have heard this. What you describe is completely logical, and the author of the information I read must have misinterpreted the "digital" part of the process to mean the fin...
Vinyl sounds better (shots fired)
I recently read that almost every vinyl record since the early 1970s has been cut on a lathe that utilized a digital delay line for the source material. This allowed for the lathe to “anticipate” transients to facilitate widening the groove spacin...
Who's winning?
When you frame humanities in terms of winning/losing, you've already lost. That said, I'll take the speakers for $30k.
